Who could be bored with this many ducks to clean!
Awesome site, MSB! A bunch of nannies right now, but nannies are fun, especially if you get mad at 'em!

Watched geese landing in the south end of my hole until I just couldn't stand it. Figured I'd mosey on down and get 'em when they came back. Guess what.... no open water! They were landing on ice! Walked up on one that I thought was frozen in. Got about 15 yds away, put my gun down, picked up a ...

Jack Frost,

I'm south of Greenville, but they tell me there is some good hunting at a place called Askew (spelling?) somewhere around Batesville, by the sound of it. And it's public. Places around Greenville that I'd recommend are Leroy Percy State Park, the MS river (access at the lakefront ...

I'm from Greenville, MS, and recently had the pleasure of meeting several groups of hunters from SC. They were nice guys. Either I didn't meet Massa Bates, or he changed his opinion of MS. Either way, Mr. Bates, just don't come back! There'll be more birds for me next year!

As for the "Ol' Man ...

I think it has to do with a "roost". Ducks, and other birds I guess, go to roost right before dark. Although, I think my father used to hunt right up until you couldn't see your hand in front of your face!

Corn is illegal ??? Hmmmm... Guess I'm not going hunting in the morning! Seriously, though, I'm in the delta, about 10 miles south of Greenville, and there just ain't no ducks!!! I have one good "honey-hole", but it's nothing this year. I've killed about 10 shovelers, gadwalls, and teal this year ...
