Fosters Lake, Oxbow Lakes, New Law?
Foster's Lake is down here, near Woodville. It used to be private, then something the Corps of Engineers was doing to the MS River in the 60's increased the amount of water flowing through there. Some law on the state books says that if XXXXgal/minute flows through an area it must be made public ...

Gotta be a lab
Thought some of you lab lovers would appreciate this story...
Hunting in flooded timber, midmorning. Beau, my 11 month old chocolate male, after having performed admirably all morning, was busily drying himself on his little platform. Apparently, his rear end needed some extra attention...well, he ...

I had alot of the aforementioned prejudices about ecollars and FT's in general, forcefetching, etc. Notice I used the past tense there, I met a guy last summer was into FTs, went to his place, and was astounded. All my misconceptions were blown out of the water. He broke me of being closed minded. I ...

Male (vs) Female Lab
I've raised and trained a chessie bitch, a yellow bitch, a chocolate bitch, and a chocolate male. They all were excellent hunters. The best was the chessie followed closely by the chocolate male. I prefer chocolate color but I hunt timber, rivers, and beaver ponds. If I had to choose a better gender ...

How were you introduced to duck hunting?
I had just turned 4. My Dad and I went to the Outer Banks of N.C. to snow goose hunt. I was so small that Dad had the dekes over one shoulder and me over the other. Carried me the whole way in. After he set out the dekes, he realized that the guts had fallen out of his goose call. He was using his ...

Haydel's Wood Duck Call ????
CMD,
I have one I got before this past year. Not enough ducks to make a definitive judgement as of yet. I tell ya though, it is VERY loud in the timber. I found myself using a fingertip to baffle it down to a tolerable level. If ya want to, email me and we'll get on the horn and see if we cant get ...

where do you buy shells?
I get mine at Academy Sports in Baton Rouge. I know there is an Academy in Gulfport. They have the best prices of any store I've seen on steel shot. Obviously, on-line is cheaper and my brother ordered a case on-line (dunno what site). With shipping added in they beat Academy by about $2 per box ...
