You may want to try an improved cylinder or light modified to improve steel patterns. My experience on the patterning board and in the blind has shown me that steel loads shot through a tighter constricted choke will have holes in the pattern. Other non-toxic loads that have characteristics similar ...

What's up with this weather?
Been enjoying early mornings in the duck blind or knee deep in the black water of the cypress swamps for the last 40 years. It has always been fun for me to watch the world wake up, particularly when the early morning silence is broken by the sound of wings sailing through the air. The appreciation ...

Hope you guys get this type of weather soon to fill the holes with water and ducks! This is the first time since 1960 that we have ...

Several years ago, my duck buddy and I took our sons with us to our friend's place in the Delta. He and I sat in a blind together while the boys sat in another on the other side of some flooded timber. Their blind was in rice stubble and ours was overlooking cut beans. All morning long we could hear ...

To Hunt or Not to Hunt?
I do not assume to know half as much about ducking as most of you here, but I thought I'd share the experience we had this past weekend with you. Saturday morning everything was frozen solid except for a few fish ponds and the river next to the property we were hunting. We didn't even see a duck's ...

Two years ago, we hunted Malmaison during the freeze. The ice was 6 inches thick in most places. We would gun the motor, causing the front of the boat to rise and then let it fall onto the ice. This broke the ice into large chunks and allowed the boat to move forward. The only problem is that the ...

You're right, but I doubt if there is anything me or anybody else could do to change the way some people are. I hope that most of you realize that not everyone from SC is like that. I just love to hunt and, more than that, I love to see my son get the opportunity to hunt where there are some ducks ...

Report From Last Weekend!!!
Drove out there Friday. Hunted private land Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. 5 hunters ( 2 adults and 3 teenage boys). Totals = 5 Gadwalls, 2 Woodies, 1 widgeon, 22 Mallards ( 4 hens and 18 greenheads), 4 Specklebellies, and 1 Snow. (Should have had way more Mallards, but the idea was to let the boys ...

Recent Hunt
Five of us hunted Dec. 27, 28, 29 on private land around Greenwood. We took 72 birds (mallards, gadwall, g/w teal, pintails, and bluebills). Had a great time!! Everything was taken either in fields or old fish ponds. The best thing about the trip was the memories I have of hunting with my 16 year ...
