Leave the sanctuaries closed!!!!!!! HHMMM???? why were they set up in the first place? Conserving, keeping a supply, of waterfowl is along term situation. Opening sanctuaries is like borrowing money from savings; once done, it is easier the next, next, etc. IT"S SOON GONE.

Climate and other factors governing a poor year, decade or longer are not at our control by such a short term measure. This ain't a ME and NOW situation.

When the frustration, sleep deprivation, fatigue caused foggy thinking is over it will look different.

That's just my opinion. IT OUGHT TO BE YOURS!!!! [/b]

as long as du keeps warming the water in canada the ducks will be hit and miss. and i've been told poeple from du hunt these areas? not to say du doesnt help the ducks. du supporters sure fund them a nice place to hunt. most sanctuaries i've seen dont hold alot of ducks per area, but man at the comerants.

be careful what you wish for. I have to drive five hours to duck hunt every weekend because the state decided to open all of our hunting areas seven days a week from daylight to dark about ten years ago. We have completely ruined the hunting around south Alabama. Years ago it was not uncommon to see thousands of ducks in flight on most of the hunts you went on. We killed a great variety of ducks and all in all we had a pretty decent season year after year. Then.... we started seeing guys shoot them on the way to roost, shoot them all day long, every morning, afternoon, etc. The people jump birds out of bays just so they can set up[ and shoot them. I watched it decline from the first year and it got worse and worse and then you get what I had the past few years. Spend five hours on the water and not see a single bird. I mean not one. Drive around in a 10 square mile area of water and not jump a single duck. The hunting pressure is one of a number of factors that contributed to the decline of our hunting, but i promise you that it is a very bad thing when birds decide that where you live is not a good place for them to live. Just my two cents worth, but I am impressed at what the state of Mississippi does to enhance waterfowl habitat and the overall hunting experience(on public land).
