question for you mechanics...

I just bought a 1988 nissan 4x4 pickup...its a v6 automatic the engine is still fresh from recent overhaul and the tranny was redone about 4 yrs ago...its full of fluid but its slipping and not wanting to move at all without a fight in any gears and wont shift out right...have to get up to like 3-4,000 rpm to move at all...researched it a lil bit and think it might be the filter stopped up if the whole tranny is not gone...it has not been run hard at all my uncle owned it and he's never been offroad in it....any help wold be appreciated..thanx!
