Buy a Char Broil. It will most likely be the last grill you will ever buy. I have been grilling on mine for the past 14 years and my dad cooked on it years before that. Well worth every penny. It's a charcoal grill...........is there any other kind?

This is a obviously a newer model & is under your $500 budget. Mine looks almost the same. If or when mine ever wears out, I will be buying another Char Broil if they haven't changed the way they made them since the 80's.
I replaced the charcoal grate a few years ago with some expanded metal but that's about the only thing I've done to it.
