Help me out here!!!!

Postby BR549 » Thu Feb 27, 2003 9:38 pm

Hey guys I need ya'll to settle an argument between myself and my wife. If you asked your wife specifically not to do something and she went out behind your back and did it would you be pissed? She doesn't know any of ya'll so speak freely.

BR, We really need more details to help you out here. But, I'd say if it was a relatively minor action, just express your displeasure and get over it. Don't make a federal case over something that won't matter next month.

Oh yeah, I've got 21 years with the same squaw! And yes, I wear the p^#!$ at my house.

Yes it was really minor but it meant something to me. If it didn't matter I wouldn't have said anything about it when she said she wanted to do it. Thing is she just wanted to do it her way just because I didn't.

No doubt to have the mate dilberately disregard your feelings really hurts.

Buckeye, it wasn't pants I was refering to. It was something I'm far more attached to!

Don't take that s@#%. Put your thumb down and show her who is boss. But, be warned that after you do this do not expect her to cook, clean or take care of your other needs for a while. In order for this to work though, you must show her that you can survive without her. Let her know she has an open invatation to hit the road. let her know it makes no difference it she stays or goes. Also let her know that as long as she stays you will love her, take care of her, and support her in her indevers through life.

Let me see, now....She really wanted to do something, but you didn't want her to. So, this started with you not supporting something that she felt was important. Then, she did something that you don't agree with, so she did not support your position. Hmmmm, it would appear to me that you are about even at this point. I would counsel you to tell her in a calm, thoughtful way that you know it hurt her feelings for you not to support her, and you, for sure, know how badly it feels for her to not support your wishes. Then say, "Let's don't do this anymore; it just doesn't feel the way I want to feel about you." Then give here a big ole hug, suggest that she pick some place she wants to go to eat, and you'll pick the activities for later that night! Dang, I should have a show like Dr. Phil!
