ACE Anchors are made right here in Mississippi. Dr. Carl Marascalco in Holcomb will treat you right. I ordered 4 dozen and he gave me a 5th dozen at no charge. The straps do break after a while, and the anchors do hang up in thick grass(but isn't that what they're supposed to do?). One thing, though, they won't scratch up your paint, and they won't get tangled up in your bag.

I like 'em.

Mine are still going strong after 3 years. I think the trick is not to store them under tension in the off season.

I prefer the plain lead straps. Tried ACE, but lost most of them when they hung up on underwater brush and either the straps broke or the ring came apart. Haven't had any long enough to have them dry rot ---lost them before they could. Also, they are kinda pricey. If you only hunt in areas of shallow water with very little underwater brush, then the ACE anchors may be the ticket ---- they are easy to wrap and store without tangles. But, so are the lead straps, and they don't don't hang up very often in deep water. Sometimes, the simple things in life are the best.

I tell you, just be cheap like me and do your own version. Choose any appropriate weightand tie it on the line. Then cut a car inner tube in 1" strips. then just loop it on the line right at the weight. Wrap that puppy up jsut like you do the Ace (around the keep). When you get to the end, loop the rubber around the keel. To unwrap, just tug the weight and it comes right off. Lasts five/six years and are cheap to replace. Works like a charm.
