The teal are here!!!

Postby Don Miller » Sat Aug 23, 2003 10:15 am

I was riding the back roads north of Greenwood this morning and saw about 30 blue wing teal on a newly land leveled field that is holding water. I doubt these will stay around until Sept.13, but the migration has definately started.

Yes they are! I went to the small pond behind my house last night to see of the local Canadas are still around, and there were about 30 blue-wings down there! I almost fell over. I didn't see them this morning...big suprise..but let's hope it's a sign of good things to come!

Saw a bunch this morning at Lake Mike Conner east of Collins. That flock of 30 sure is getting around. Larger than usual size flocks may be good sign. hopefully.

I've had 30-50 BW's in my duckhole for about 3 weeks, just hope they stick around.
