Millenium Climber???

Postby Unkljohn » Thu Nov 05, 2009 10:39 am

I saw one in a store yesterday, but it was still in the box and they didn't want me to open it... It was priced at $339, the box says you can level it while climbing, that's a pretty nice feature to have. I've gotten into some pretty hairy situations while doing just that on stands that aren't designed with that capability.
Anybody on here got one of them, or at least sat in one?

I know I would not be buying it from someone that would not let me open the box to take a look at it!!!

I got one. Its heavy as hell but extremely comfortable to sit in and climb. Its a great climber if you wanted to leave it somewhere for the season or just move it around a few stands. I would not buy it if you want a portable stand you can pack in everytime.

The stand adjustment is nice but i hardly ever use it. Its well made and grabs the tree well. But, its heavy!

like widowmaker stated, they are heavy and not built to pack in everytime. They are a pain to put around a tree but once you get the hang of it, its not as bad. very comfortable. The thing that i dont like about them is the base on them. I guess im used to an expanded metal floor. The few times ive hunted out of the millenium climber i would catch myself in an uncomfortable position standing because the spacing on the base seems a lil wider than im used to.

If it's too heavy to move around, why wouldn't you just get the lock on with some sticks? and end up saving $80. :)

I should charge people for the wisdom I empart.

Cougar Claw has a stand out now that is also adjustable, a lot lighter than the millenium, and is very comfortable.

Mine was a gift, otherwise i would have 3 more sets of rapid rails for what that thing costs. I would much rather hunt out of a lockon. Basically, i use the climber as a fixed position stand because i just leave it in one spot all year.

Brilliant advice Lawdog, please send the bill for your time to Chopper30. Thanks.

if you are fearful of heights or can never get the adjustments right get a equalizer climbing stand. They are plain awesome, you can adjust them up to 12 inches. ive climbed about 30 feet in mine and im scared of heights.

+1 on Lone Wolf Sit and Climb

I have an older one and bought the newer seat for it last year.

Easy to pack and super comfortable
