found them!!!!!!
i know why now one has been seeing ducks and here is the answer! we found a flooded creek with about 10,000 mallards on it! every duck in our county must be there and they won't get bothered because you can't get to them without boating within 100 yds of them. i guided some guys the other morning and we saw a few birds and i was telling of the ducks we had but couldn't find again. well that day at lunch i rode til i found them and we got in late but they saw the most birds i have ever seen in one hole. it was amazing and they have been there a while by all the feathers on the water. it looked like a pillow exploded. we had a really good hunt and for the guys that hunted seeing that many ducks made my day!!! hope these birds move in this week and spread since the water is going down.

No Angel, i admire how you have done your homework and scouted to find the ducks.... what puzzles me is how you can be the only man in the state of Ms. that has ducks ??? i am not doubting you, i am just curious as to why you have found them???? and no one else has???? But 10,000 malllards,,,,,, i think you are jerking my chain.........hope you all the success, after all, if i was charging for hunts, i would brag too....haha.... good luck....

i have never seen ducks act this way judge. i have spent two days looking and they were all together. i am not jerking your chain. i had 3 guys with me that were paying to hunt and they were amazed and so was i when we got in there!!! we usually have some ducks somewhere but i couldn't find them until yesterday and they were in a place i never imagined. i found where they were feeding at nite and followed them when they got up that morning but couldn't pinpoint them from the road. i put in on the creek and rode til i found them and they were hard to get to in all the small trees. it was amazing but won't last long because water is falling out but maybe they will go to one of my other fields that are within 1 mile as the crow flys???

Hey Judge, I have never seen so many ducks in a small hole in my entire life. One of the guys from New York leaned over to me and said, "Torch I've seen this on t.v. but I never thought I would witness it for myself."
Judge at one time I had 1500 mallards circling the decoys and you just have to take it all in.
we are going there in the morning on a buddy hunt. I will report back later.
No Angel ain,t pullin your chain. I think I'll video tape tomorrow.

I believe ya No Angel. Alot of ducks are here. Seen em' movin' all week. Went to one hole today and seen a good number. ALL MALLARDS!! But they all seem to be bunched up. They ain't as scattered as some think. When you find some ducks, you gonna see they are very thick and concentrated. Really wary birds. Very shy. Gonna hunt that hole in the A.M. Let ya'll know how it turns out.

OK LOOK GUYS, I HUNTED TUNICA CUTOFF THIS MORNING. I HAVE NEVER SEEN LESS DUCKS ON A HUNT IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. WE HUNTED FROM 06:30 UNTIL 11:30 AND SAW LESS THAN 20 DUCKS. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF THIS CRAP ABOUT THE DUCKS BEING ON THE BIG RIVER OR IN FIELDS ETC ETC. TUNICA CUTOFF IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE BIG RIVER AND MAY AS WELL BE A PART OF IT. WE PASSED SEVERAL FIELDS ON THE WAY HOME AND DIDN'T SEE A SINGLE DUCK IN ANY OF THEM EITHER. I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY ARE, BUT I KNOW THEY AREN'T ANY PLACE I HAVE HUNTED. I'M BEGINNING TO THINK SOMEONE HAS TURNED LOOSE SOME OF THOSE SOUTH CAROLINA DUCKS IN MISSISSIPPI...YOU KNOW BANDED TAMIES. ANYWAY IF YOU TRULY HAVE DUCKS MORE POWER TO YOU. IF NOT, THEN JOIN THE RAPIDLY GROWING CROWD.

I received a first hand report today similar to No Angel's original post and from roughly the same part of the state. I do not know if there is one or two concentrations of that size, but the report received today was from public land.
I saw more ducks congregated yesterday on a private field near Vance, MS than I have seen the rest of the year combined. I have been on roughly 15 hunts in SE LA & the MS Delta . . . the ducks are tightly concentrated.

OK, I've been out the past few days, so I'm gullible enough to get into this conversation.
Someone answer me this: If the ducks are here, just highly concentrated, how come somebody ain't busted them up??? If you guys are seeing the birds why are you not hunting them and scattering the concentrations? Eh?
I agree that high water provides opportunities for ducks to congregate in mass numbers - in places where they would not ordinarily. But its only a matter of time until they get found and scattered IF they ever really existed.
So when are you boys sending the rest of us some of these ducks?????

O K, its deep enough here. Maybe these guys are seeing ducks, I see ducks too. But as I eluded to a couple of weeks ago I think the agenda is more centered around free advertising. Now these guys are getting on the phone and herding up new members to the board to verify these "sightings". (kinda like UFO's) But in all the post about all the ducks, THEY AIN'T MENTIONED KILLING A DANG ONE, NOT EVEN THE PEOPLE THEY HAVE ATTACHED TO THE BOARD TO FURTHER THEIR ADVERTISING.
