Pretty humorous article on the story. Steve Holland apparently isn't very shy. Must be something in the water up there in Tupelo.

The people from North MS look like idiots everytime they vote him in. Its sad when you have to tell a State representative to watch his language around young kids in a restraunt.

The Coen brothers need to get working on this movie quick, fast, and in a hurry. That was the most entertaining thing I've read in awhile.

Exactly what I thought after reading it. It was so ridiculous that I thought it was satire at first. After a quick google search of Holland, I realized that those outlandish quotes weren't out of the norm for him.

If the guy was doing a documentary, instead of a article he would have made millions. I was really enjoying the read,

I get the distinct honor of sharing a Sunday morning with him once a year or so in a very small community church in NE MS. The man is nucking futs! He's as loony as the other characters in that tale, just with more to lose.

I thought it was someone's creative writing contest entry at first until I got to his quotes. When I read the quote "I could absolutely make love to a bull moose on the steps of the Lee county court house and garner more than 5% of the vote" I just started to laugh out loud. I would normally think that some of the quotes that he had in the article were made up but I have been around him a few times either socially or at his funeral home and he says some wild stuff. He's one of those people that does not have much a filter between the brain and the mouth and he makes no apologies for it. Not scared to speak his mind to man, woman or child. Some of the statements by him in the article, particularly about selling the caskets, if true, are nothing short of tacky and tasteless. Apparently some people don't care because his funeral home does conduct a lot of funerals. I live here in NE MS and I see them vote him in year after year and just wonder what I am missing in the equation.

Steve Steve Steve

“I had never stood eyeball to eyeball or dick to dick with the man, but for some reason he just hated the hell out of me,” says Holland, a gloriously profane and paradoxically genteel man of 58.

What a fine representative you are...
