Muck Boots...

Postby Jeff » Mon Oct 07, 2013 5:05 am

Ok gang need some help...

Getting ready to make the move from Lacrosse to Muck boots, however I see muck boots have no real temperature rating. I am looking for something I can wear when chilly. Are all their boots created the same as far as temperature rating?

No, they've got temp ratings. I've got the Woody Sport, -20 to 70, I THINK. I've also got a pair of Field Blazers and they're 0-80. I love them both btw.

Yeah I've got the Wetlands and the Field Blazers. I use the Field blazers when it's warmer and the wetlands when it's cooler. The Woody Max are supposed to be better in Colder temps from what I hear though.

I've had my Woody Sport boots for probably 7 years, love em. Warm and lightweight, never really had any trouble with my feet getting cold either. Will be buying another pair as soon as they crap out.

Woody Max for sure. They are the best boots I have ever had. Light, comfortable, and warm.

So Woody Max and Woody Elite have the same ratings of -40ºF to 60ºF. Is there any significant difference between them? Only thing I notice is the Elite has 100% camo and the Max is camo upper only.

http://www.muckbootsonline.com/woody.html

the comparison has the temp ratings for the woody models.

i wore out a pair of woody max hunting in a bottom (4 years of walking through water to get to any stand) and feet were comfortable in all temps except "friggin' rediculous" cold....and how often does that happen down here... the neoprene is easily patched if punctured and had a half inch tear repaired with a patch and shoegoo that lasted for the last couple of years of the boots' life before the sole finally released itself from one boot.
now, i've got a pair of wetland field that haven't seen temps near freezing, so i can't comment on their warmth compared to woody max...both are light, comfortable, and the neoprene keeps cockleburs, weed seed and other debris from getting in.

*mudhog - looks like the elites are 1" taller than the max

I had a pair of Woody Max (actually still have them but the back of the inside of the boot wore off and it rubs my heal). I bought the wetland field boots two years ago and I love them. For me the are more comfortable than my woody max and I haven't had a problem with cold temps with either boot.

I'm pretty sure mine or the woody Max model. About them to go on a hunting trip to Canada couple years ago and they are very warm. I've been wearing them this summer in fact most and all of the summer land and have not complained about them being too hot to wear in the heat. Not saying I've been wearing them 12 hours a day in the blazing sun with no complaints but for what I do with them they have not been a problem to wear in Mississippi in the summertime.

My only real complaint with them is the upper is not very durable. In fact it's not durable at all, mine are mostly shoe goo at this point.

I wear Woody Sports anywhere from 30-70 degrees comfortably, just change socks...which basically means it's the only boot I need hunting in Mississippi...love em!

Although I've heard tremendous reviews for the new LaCrosse Aerohead...looks like it's made a lot like the Muck boots

I have the wetlands and they have been the best slip on boots I have ever had. Just got a new pair in that Muck replace for free. I called to inquire if there was a glue that I could use to glue the sole back on to the boot and they just asked for my address and had me a new pair on my door step in a week. The pair they replaced was 4 years old and they knew it. Great CS and comfortable boots.
