I wear the HSS...... It's light and comfortable... I picked up a spider yesterday and compared to my HSD, it was a lot heavier...... I don't have the vest, I have to harness style....

There are several good ones out there now. I have a Hunters Saftey System. It can't get any easier than that. Alot of stores will let you try them on. That's what I'd recommend. I purchased my daughter one at Delta Outfitters a couple months ago and that's what we did. I had her put each youth model vest on till she found the one she liked. It just happened to be a HSS vest also.

I ordered a HSS pro series Monday. Had a strap break on a ladder stand, even though I double up my straps, still gave me an uneasy feeling.

I do a lot of early season bow hunting. so I like something light, and cool.
I use the summit fast back. it has worn well for several years. It uses the rope system with a prussic knot to go around the tree.

Re: Safety harness
The HSS Vest with the holes in it doesn't hold heat like the solid vest does. I use the mesh one for that reason.
My main concern is figuring out how long to use one before buying another. Mine looks to be in excellent shape.......but I've used it for a few years and may go ahead and buy a new one.

I have a Muddy. Light and cool, and stays out of the way.

I just bought a HSS Ultralite. Very easy to use. Comes with an instructional DVD. I have been pleased with it but I would get the vest if purchasing again. Would be nice to have the pockets for range finder, etc.
