'Got an e-mail 'decoy sale' notification from MPW this morning.

I fully expected to see a bunch of GHG decoys listed. But instead, it was a 4-pack of Hardcore Full-body honker decoys for $180 plus $12 oversized package delivery fee. So that's like $48.00 apiece.

Well, that's their regular price, but you get free shipping right now.

I thought it comical that 'other items you might be interested in' were:

• Mojo replacement motor
• PMC bronze FMJ .223 cartridges

So, I guess this might appeal to the guy with more money than sense......that has tried everything but more-expensive decoys and a centerfire rifle for wary honkers.

I kinda hate Mack's got stuck with these decoys, but I suspect they had to buy a certain amount of these to get the rest of the Hardcore package. 'Not too broken-up about HC taking a negative publicity hit.......once you get above $30 per decoy, it better be like Dave Smith customs.....or something of a better quality than what everybody else makes in the $30 range.

I am keeping an eye out for decoy sales--Mack's does better on shipping than most. I'm looking for cheap duck decoys, and if you can get GHG hot buys down around 4 bucks or less, then you can run some big spreads at pretty low cost. Mack's sometimes gets me with their morning e-mail, and I buy something I don't need.

48 bucks for a goose decoy? Maybe their motto is correct? "It ain't easy...making enough money to buy 'em!"

Travis and I liked the one they had several years ago (like 2006) that had (in addition to all the pockets) little retractable lines that you could hook stuff to and carry-in. They were like spring-loaded fishing yoyo's.

I could invision walking-in to your spot with your thermos hooked to one and everytime you took a step the thermos would drop-down a little - then come-up and smack you in the chin.

Those guys seem to believe in them - and if they're able to keep a straight face during that promo........more power to'em.

I HAVE often thought what alternative there is to your calls ending-up behind your ears while lying on your back in a ground blind......maybe this is 'it'.
