Bayou Classic Cypress Grill Gasket

Postby edub20 » Thu May 01, 2014 2:37 pm

Has anyone gone another route on theirs vs using the Felt? I use mine a good bit and an getting tired of having to replace the gasket so frequently.

This looks interesting...

I've had mine 3 years and never replaced the basket.

Mine usually dries out and starts turning charred and flaking apart after about 3-4 months of cooking on it. I usually cook 2-3 times a week on it and smoke extended periods of time with it. mine is covered via patio but exposed to afternoon sunlight... Not sure that would have anything to do with it though.

don't let the grease build up on it, and it won't flare up. I take a wire brush and clean mine every few times I cook. I use mine all the time as well.

Beef short ribs going on tonight.

Hm, never thought about that. I guess with all of the splatter from cooking it tends to cake up on the gasket. I'll give it a shot.
