What is this stuff?

What is this stuff? It's growing in mulch everywhere. When it pops up its bright yellow. After a couple days it turns orange. Then slowly over time it decays to a fine brown powder that is very hydrophobic. Just curious. Kind of looks like dog vomit but it's everywhere in my mulch beds.

That there looks like sheet.

Good question. I saw some the other day. Thought one of the dogs had managed to eat the entire tennis ball collection.

Yellow Slime Mold...aka dog vomit mold. Part of nature's way to decompose the cellulose in the mulch.

I have the same stuff in my mulch as well. Thought it was cat puke ha. Weird lookin stuff.
