My feeling is....If ya advertise, expect to get business.

If Bubba Earl wants to openly carry his Daddy's squirrel gun over his shoulder into the QuikMart to buy a pack of Salem Lites, then Jack Thugg is probably going to think twice before pulling out his 9 for any reason. Therefore, I am safe.

Of course, if Mr. Thugg DOES decide to use his 9, then he knows he'd better use it on Bubba Earl first. This will give me time to get MY flat, white @$$ out of harms way. Therefore, I am safe.

But then, if I see Bubba Earl going into the QuikMart toting his Daddy's squirrel gun over his shoulder in the first place, just how bad do I really WANT that Diet Dr. Pepper?

I am OK with OC, especially for those that have limited resources and can't an additional $200.00 + to get the CC permit and the EC training. My only fear is that the more people open carry the more businesses will put up no firearms signs and essentially create gun free zones. We are already seeing this in Starbucks, Chipotle and Chili's restaurants. I understand the business rights to put up the signs, but I want less gun free zones and more places to take my family to eat where I can still CC, and the OC of firearms (especially of long guns) is diminishing both. I am not anti OC, I am anti "No Firearms Signs", this is why I wasn't crazy about the so called "OC" law passed here in MS. All it did was create more No Firearms Signs.
I OC every day( not a long gun...lol ), i also see many signs and have talked to many store owners about the " firearms free zone they have created" so far i have been able to get 6 signs removed by explaing the law to them . I thikn here in Ms we will see more signs come down in the future, or at least i hope so, i just dont do bis. with places that have signs posted for the time being.

A responsible gun owner who wants to open carry should fully expect to be questioned about his intentions, even by the police, and should be prepared to fully and gladly comply and explain himself without feeling that he has been harassed. He would want the same thing to happen if the shoe were on the other foot. Any other attitude seems irresponsible and the beginning of trouble to me.
In cwinks case, he was repoeted as suspisious(sp) and open carring allowing the police to question him if they had found him.

Otherwise just the fact that someone is open carrying does not give the police the right to stop them and question them as to their intentions.

I don't disagree. To me it's a little like driving a car, though. If you're gonna do it you better expect to go through a road block once in a while even if you're not driving drunk, with a suspended license, without your seat belt, etc.
