WTH? ask DS

So I did a cruise out of New Orleans with the family a couple weeks ago. Never been out of NO... been on only one other cruise and it was out of Mobile. Anyway, also did not realize it was a long trip to get to the gulf from New Orleans.

Question: WTH are all those strobe lights for in the marsh. I mean they are flasing everywhere. Do they mark channels thru the marsh?

More than likely well heads and other stuff sticking up from oil production.

There were hundreds and hundreds of them off in the marshes and they didn't look like they were very high off the water.

man that is alot of wells.... maybe it was the patron that was making me see thousands of strobe lights?

Don't know if they have them out there, but they have the big windmills in South Texas and they have the red lights on top.. They usually all blink in synchronization too.. In other words all light blink on at one time..

HAHAHA! Windmill,schiwnmill! That is were you peeps get your oil and gas. You might have been in Southwest Pass on the port side(left) of ship when you saw that. There is one field in the top of East Bay with literally hundreds if not thousands of lights on well heads and platforms. That is my office view at night.

Imagine each well with its own channel. It increases the salt water intrusion and marsh erosion
