This guy comes up every couple of weeks making runs. You may can catch him and see when hes coming. He runs his own nets and fishes 130 + miles out (or so he tells us). We have not been disappointed and typically get 20-30 lbs every time he comes through.

Most of his are 8-10 count. His last run were smaller than normal and his cost is $6 per lb and for every 20lbs you buy you get a lb free.

40-60s were $3 today behind the Hard Rock. "Everybody's catching the same, no jumbos yet" - went a few blocks north of the Beau to https://qualitypoultryandseafood.com/ and they had a variety of shrimp - I can't imagine all of them were out of state shrimp but I didn't ask. We do hope to go back later in the summer, but definitely will check out this Shrimp Man.

They had jumbo (9-12) headons for $6.99. We got some large and jumbos there were headless for a bit more but there's less dead weight.

A guy used to come through the Delta with Shrimp and my mom would take orders for him, we'd get a deal.

Prices are up because the Asian shrimp farming industry has been hit with some disease that's dang near whiped them out. I'm not going to be selfish because I have to pay more, this is a good thing for our Gulf shrimpers.

Anyone considering the good captain would do well to bring a set of scales. I paid for 20 pounds today @$7 a pound. Supposedly get 5 pounds free with 20 according to him. So 25 lbs supposed to be in the cooler. Got home and it hit the digital scales at 17 pounds. On the bright side, they were 14 ct weight including head. Nice shrimp but if you are gonna sell them by the pound, weigh them by the pound instead of using a scoop you claim is 5 pounds. That's bull crap. Buyer beware.
