Big difference is that you cannot call it a level II. If you are hurting and need some more meds you will have to go by and get a prescription. Ok 9-5 if you live in the same town. Sucks after hours and on weekends.
Another example of how the government cannot solve a problem so it makes life difficult for everyone.

Actually, schedule IIs can be called in in limited quantities for emergency situations, but most shy away from doing so (understandably).

But I think a Rx is required to be provided to the pharmacy within 24 hours of the call in.dukhntn wrote:Actually, schedule IIs can be called in in limited quantities for emergency situations, but most shy away from doing so (understandably).
Narcotics shouldn't be called in anyway. I never do.........no matter the reason.

Must be provided within 7 days.Deltaquack wrote:But I think a Rx is required to be provided to the pharmacy within 24 hours of the call in.dukhntn wrote:Actually, schedule IIs can be called in in limited quantities for emergency situations, but most shy away from doing so (understandably).

Not all schedule IIs are narcotics, and not all narcotics are schedule IIs.

I'm absolutely aware of that. The rule change wasn't changing all schedule III's to II's.....just Hydrocodone combinations........which are narcotics.dukhntn wrote:Must be provided within 7 days.Deltaquack wrote:But I think a Rx is required to be provided to the pharmacy within 24 hours of the call in.dukhntn wrote:Actually, schedule IIs can be called in in limited quantities for emergency situations, but most shy away from doing so (understandably).

Score some for me too. $.99 for 24 I used to be able to pick up at Fred's. Now a bottle of 100 is $10.00 and I have to jump through hoops, sign away my firstborn, take a drug test, give a balance sheet, tax return and sign a waiver to get a prescription called in for a stuffed up head. I really have not noticed the meth heads slowing down one bit.

There will be a day....
Re: PSA for DS docs, dentists, pharmacists, etc...
So narcotics should never be called in anyway? Phenergan with codeine for cough? Tylenol #3 for dental pain? Hycodan (currently) for cough? I'm curious to see how the dentists and oral surgeons in my area handle this rule change since Norco appears to be the drug of choice for dental pain.
A lot of people (medical field included) use the term narcotic as a synonym for CIIs, which is not always correct. The rule change is also not changing all narcotics to schedule II.... just hydrocodone combination products.

Had a Narc cop tell me last week that MS psuedo law has made Mexican Drug Cartels very happy. It hasn't slowed down the usage, just where it comes from. Brilliant move on our legislators.gps4 wrote:I got skinny Pete and badger running down some pseudo for me, so me and mine gonna be just fine!
