Lone Wolf Climbers????

Postby quackerkiller » Fri Oct 03, 2014 10:03 am

Who all uses one and which one do you have? I'm looking at the "sit and climb" 20 lb version..... A die hard ol'man hunter, but with my stand being 16 years old this season, it's time to replace it..... (And before I get bashed, I inspect it every two weeks while hunting and it never gets left in the weather) thanks guys!

You may have to join the forum to see the image, but I saw a genius adaptation to make the LW hand climber into a sit and climb:

I've had my old man since I was in the 7th grade. I'm 30

I have alice back pack straps on mine that makes it a lot easier to pack.

I am very interested in the lone wolf sit and climb - I'm going to have to test one before I spend the $$$

Here is a topic that I commented on previously. If you go to archerytalk.com, you can read till you head hurts about Lone Wolfs.

Has been discussed here a few times.

In short, I love mine but I'm not sure it would be a good stand for a big guy. I also added a Summit seat to mine.

I can try to answer any specific questions.

That's me man I've been using mine since I was 12.... I'm 28 now and it's hard to beat the simplicity of the ol'man vision..... I'm 200 lbs so I wouldn't need a big guy stand, I'm just looking for something super light and comfortable!

I sold my Lone Wolf last year to stick with my Ol Man. I hunted with both in 2012-2013...fall of 13 sold the Lone Wolf b/c too much money to watch sit on the porch.

Lone wolf carries/packs great, it climbs ok, it sticks to the tree...it's quiet. But it's small, and I'm a small guy, it was too small...the sit bar used for climbing didn't feel great when climbing and it's small on the tree. I used it and definitely liked some part of it but being I couldn't afford that much money tied up in a climber I couldn't make myself use in favor of my Ol Man, I sold it.

I also have a Summit, and I usually put it in spots and leave it for periods of time...can't stand packing and hanging the bulky load POS...it climbs like crap, but it does sit great and solid on the tree...so I use it.

You simply can not beat the Ol Man in my opinion. I wish they would keep the regular old green Vision aluminum climber. But the AlumaLite is a suitable replacement since nobody can leave well enough alone!
