Could Success = Players Leaving Early for NFL ???
Have not given much thought to this until I saw NUTMEG mention this was really not the year UM fans thought they would be this good, but more like 2015 with all the returning starters and more maturity.
Do we see a number of kids leave MSU and UM early because they are getting the attention and are in the spotlight so that their talents are being recognized??? I can see some players from both schools on the defensive side of the ball that are NFL type players. Will this success help push them to go on to the draft???

Are we gonna get wet?

I thought Dak would definitely leave after this year if he continues to play as well as he has, but he's not real high on any draft boards I've seen.

That being said, here's what Prescott says about it, and I don't really blame him at all...

If he's got a degree, he'd be crazy not to.

I mean, the guy grew up in a trailer park. His family needs the money. I'd instantly become a fan of whatever team he went to.

It would be great for him but I Beleive he would only be the next Jamarcus Russell of whatever team invested in him after this year. This years heisman candidates so far are the weakest in history IMO. Hope dawgs keep winning but to have daks and Wallace as heisman front runners puts spotlight on what caliber candidates we have this year.

LSU is case in point for success equating to early departures. LSU has lost 20+ players early over the last two years to the NFL. To that point, the defensive line and receiving core was decimated this past year by early departures. Receivers Landry and Beckham would have been back on this LSU team, along with Anthony Johnson and Ego Ferguson at defensive tackles. Jeremy Hill would have also been back at RB.
I have told you guys and you will see it come to fruition...the most fun part for a college football fan is to be a fan of a team on the rise. Once you are at the top, it is stressful. Once you start back down, it is depressing. OM and State fans needs to really enjoy this part, because the fun will dissipate soon.

Prescott has more smarts in his pinky finger nail than Russell has in his head. There are others that were a lot better than daks that are now broke nfl players. And Russell was a first rounder. Vince young was as well. Running qbs don't fair so well in nfl. Daks ain't the passer McNair was. He would be dumb not to bolt for the money but hope he banks it and doesn't do as deuce did and lose it all building everyone in the family a house and buying em all cars. He should let jarious Norwood show him how to handle it. That guy is the smartest one I have seen from a money standpoint. He saved every dime.

Ole Miss really only has two players that might could leave early - CJ Johnson and Mike Hilton and I don't really think they will.
Most of the Rebels are sophomores and next year we will have several leave early.

Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick disagree...as do Tony Romo, Jay Cutler, Aaron Rogers and Cam Newton. All are mobile QBs, some more than others. Running QB is a misnomer. A mobile QB is a near necessity in the NFL now.Running qbs don't fair so well in nfl.
If Dak Prescott leaves early (which he will), there is probably only one QB that is taken ahead of him and that is the QB from Baylor. Prescott will be taken ahead of Jameis Winston based on his character and intelligence alone. That likely makes Prescott a Top 10 pick...maybe Top 5.
I heard someone on ESPN this week describe Prescott as a larger version of Russell Wilson. That is high praise.

He is no Russell wilson. He is a good college qb. His numbers compared to the other qbs isn't that great. He is surviving by his team winning. If they were losing by a point each week he wouldn't be in hone conversation. Wallace is now in the conversation as well. I agree he will be drafted but he is not close to being the best qb in college football. He can thank his defense a lot for getting drafted and a very weak pool of candidates this season due to off field troubles etc. I loved tebow and Beleive he was much better an daks but he didn't make it in nfl. Today he was projected a 2nd round pick which means there isn't much faith in him being a great qb at this point and his stock may plummet by jan if they lose a few.

I've heard more UM fans talking about Dak leaving than MSU fans. I hope he doesnt, but dont blame him if he does. I think he and the team need to woory about the task at hand, rather than the end of season.
