Listening to your link Donia. Apparently the beauty supply shop is on fire. Active looting at West Morrison and Chambers(Auto Tire and Taco Bell, drove car through the building). Toys R Us being broken into. Listened for 5 minutes.

NUTS!!! people in masks driving around...packs of cars varying from 50-100 driving place to place looting...firefighters pushed out of area due to gun fire...crowd of 70 armed looters pushing police back...most units having to wait for backup due to crowd size...national guard units requested & deployed..."board up" units requested to board up storefronts after looters leave & before the next wave gets to it...dellwood city hall and police station set on fire

I could rant and rave about the way it has been handled, but it would be useless. They were willing to let it go to an extent or they would have used deadly force once the violence started.

Only thing I watched last night was 5 minutes of Obama's speech about this. He was saying "People need to stay calm as we heal peacefully...yada yada..." It was a split screen image. One side was him speaking, and the other side was people looting, police firing tear gas into crowds, and basic anarchy. You'd think the black community could get behind someone who really deserved all this anger. How about the black kid who was shot in the Wal-Mart when he was in the toy department looking at toy guns. Police showed up and shot him. Now THAT is a reason for anger. However that cop was fired and prosecuted I believe.
