Here's the video from our opening day shoot in Arkansas. Flooded timber I've found is incredibly difficult to capture on video. We were covered in ducks, and I got some of the shooting, but it's tough to get a good representation of how awesome it was.

Awesome!
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.

Question: That quack.......quack.......quack call at 2:32 in the video. That cadence is usually what I hear ducks do if they are flushed and are in danger. Am I right that they may take that call as a warning or is it also used in relaxed settings for ducks?
Great video duramax. Amazing hunt.

That is great!
Re: Arkansas Opening Day flooded timber video
I would tend to agree. It wasn't me calling. I actually called very little for a change. The 4 guys I was with were very call happy, and I figured 1 more would make it about 2x too much noise. That said, when the sun came out, it didn't make a bit of difference, they were committing suicide left and right kamikaze-ing the decoys.Smoke68 wrote:Question: That quack.......quack.......quack call at 2:32 in the video. Man thx for sharing. What kind of camera set up do you have?
Re: Arkansas Opening Day flooded timber video
It's nothing too fancy. It's a Sony Handicam Digital HD. It's mounted to my shotgun with a Deer Ridge Gun/Bow mount.khound22 wrote:Man thx for sharing. What kind of camera set up do you have?
