Re: The gun that won the west
Really cool story. Wonder how many people walked right by it through the years?
Years ago while huting I sat down next to a big old oak and as my hand hit the ground something stuck in it. I lifted it up adn it was an old Case knife half opened. I've always wondered how if got there. But that gun story is unbelievable.

Does that tree/scrub look old enough to have been holding that rifle up for 100 years? Not saying that it has been there since it was manu, but the story seems to make out like this is an ancient find. I don't know, just seems as likely that someone left it there about 40 years ago or intentionally put it there to draw attention to the park. just my .02

Had a buddy kneel down one time to watch a deer and got to digging in the dirt on a piece of antler that was barely showing through the top of the dirt. It ended up being a Randal Knife
Wish I could find a Colt SAA

You'd probably get shot and added to what / whoever is down there should some people find out your trying to dig up the bottom of that river.edub20 wrote:wonder how much crap they'd find on the bottom of the Pearl River below lowhead to the main lake...
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

It doesn't surprise me at all. Things in the dessert don't decay nearly as fast as things around here in the humid Mississippi River Delta. It just doesn't happen.woody wrote:Does that tree/scrub look old enough to have been holding that rifle up for 100 years?
