Does anyone have a contact?
I bought a used HP designjet 1050 HP plotter.
I need it checked out but i know i will need a new belt and need it serviced on site (my house in Gwood). Everyone around here uses Oce plotters. My think was that i can catch a tech making a service call or regular service/maintenance calls in the Greenwood area, which may help reduce my cost as they wont be making a special trip........that hasnt worked out.
Who the heck still uses HP plotters and who services them?
Thanks in advance.

I'd love to know also; need some work done on a 1050 in Pontotoc. The things almost never break so we don't have a good service contact. Jackson Blueprint maybe?

HP will send a tech out to work on them for a fee. Or you can contact one of their authorized providers...

i've replaced the belt on my old 1050c...last time it broke, there was catastrophic failure that ultimately took out the main board, once it was all said and done. ..have also replaced ribbons, ink delivery system & an ink reservoir.
i'm pretty sure i still have the repair manual .pdf if you want it.
the 1050c completed a LOT of print jobs before it gave up the ghost, but not nearly as many as the 650c did before it. got a spiffy t920 that i hope matches 1050c on longevity. (650 longevity would just be a pipe dream...)

No help on the plotter, but anybody know anything about digitizers?
I'm looking at a 20x22 roll up GTCO digitizer on ebay, but don't know if the software that comes with it will communicate to AutoCAD.

Its been years since i messed with one. They have software now that will take pdf drawings and let you manipulate the lines and data to put in autocad.MudHog wrote:No help on the plotter, but anybody know anything about digitizers?

I'm trying to take some old wood working plans and create CAD drawings from them so that I can reprint as needed and protect them. The plans are the ones that are full scale and you trace out the pattern onto the wood. Problem is some of the patterns are front and back on the pattern so you end up with impressions on the back side of the front side pattern.
Also small metal parts would be easier to draw up with a digitizer. I'm looking at one on ebay for $200, but cannot figure out what software/drivers are needed. The company MFG used to recommend people to another company for the driver, but the person passed away and his driver is no longer available.
PS, we use an HP Designjet 500 (24") here at the office and it continues to give very good service.
