dont post much BUT
In case some of you have not noticed, this country has been taken over by a bunch of weirdos!!
Re: dont post much BUT
I'm done caring. I've done my duty, served this country in war, and all I get is marginalized by my fellow countrymen not from the Deep South, my heritage destroyed, rights threatened, and no representation in government. I've thrown my hands up and I'm walking away. Let it burn to the ground. There's not so much as a shred of patriotism or national pride left in me. It's not all this latest thing with the flag (it's not really about the flag per se), but this was kind of the last straw for me, I guess. I'm looking out for me and mine from here on out.

First, thanks for your service. And I agree with you, we are turning a corner that I am not sure we can come back from.. At least not for awhile and not without the majority of Americans having to suffer the consequences of not paying attention to what is going on.. I know we have been discussion the MS Flag recently and many point to that as a turning point.. But I think there are bigger issues that we are going to have to deal with very soon..

The moral issues and choices our leadership and society as a whole make is what concerns me. God is going to punish this country at some point... You can bet on that!cwink wrote:davidees wrote:I'm done caring. Lighting the White House in rainbow colors was the straw that broke it for me. Our once great nation is in a moral decline that is outpacing our ability to deal with it. All great democracies eventually fall, and we're next.

Re: dont post much BUT
I'm far from a chicken little sky is falling person but it scares to me death the course we are on. Not so much for me but for my little boy. I have lost all faith in our representatives and senators to right the ship. The few that want to help are pretty much helpless in this current system. The majority don't really give a $#!+ about us any more it appears. I worry that there will be another great sacrifice like our forefathers gave coming sooner than later. It may be another 100 years off or it may be 10 who knows but America will have a gut check at some point if things keep going the way they are.teul2 wrote:I am afraid you are right.yankee wrote: All great democracies eventually fall, and we're next.

Re: dont post much BUT
I woke up this morning and watched the news. It appears that Bernie Sanders, a card carrying Socialist, is now considered a major threat to win the Democrat Party nomination to the WH. Let that sink in for a second - a socialist has a very good shot at being the next president of the United States of America.
We now have gay marriage and black lives matter more than others. There are movements to completely remove any trace of confederate memorials and exhume bodies of confederate generals. We have Obamacare, which is here to stay and which will bankrupt the nation - as affirmed by our Supreme Court. Policeman can no longer actually do their jobs and face life threatening scrutiny, even when they do it right.
The thing about progressivism is that it must progress or die.
The next progression, IMHO, will be to target Christianity. Christians are being framed as the most intolerant group that still remains and stands in the way of progressivism. They will stand in the way of providing gay marriages and they will be fully in the targets of the progressives.
The first thing that will happen is the removal of tax exempt status of churches. The next step will be prevention and crimilization of religious proselytizing (sharing the gospel).
I think another target will obviously be guns. We have seen that the legislature no longer matters (hell, we have seen that our supposedly conservative Congress is siding with Obama is giving up our sovereignty). At some point, the SCOTUS will issue a decision which will effectively outlaw the ownership of guns - I predict within the next 5-8 years.
Think how far we have digressed as a nation since 9/11 in virtually every way imaginable. I think you can justifiably only be limited by our imagination as to how bad it can and will get.
As has been stated on here, get right with God, enjoy your family and friends, take care of your family and friends and know that we are strangers in a foreign land.

I think the founding fathers are rolling over in their graves. Not so much for the gay marriage decision, but to see how broken our system is. And how the admin picks and chooses what it wants to support and not support
Do I believe in gay marriage? No, but I also don't believe the govt should be involved in trying to legislate morality. Not to mention that since the state issues Marriage license it should be a state's right issue not a federal issue.. What surprises me more is that they voted in favor of the Obama care "saying that it was the intent of the law" and not the actual wording that mattered, and yet voted on the Gay Marriage saying "we have to go by the letter of the law, and not the intent"
And then, with all the talk about removing the confederate flag because it might offend some and that is should not fly over govt buildings (Which I agree with) but then to light the White House in Gay Pride colors.. I bet that offended a few people!!! Just goes beyond my comprehension.
I am not as upset about the Gay Marriage decision as I am about how they twist and manipulate the constitution to whatever their topic of the week is.. I know gay marriage is wrong but I don't believe we will be judged by the actions of our Govt, but by the actions of how we live our lives and that includes what ever is in store for us in the US.
Funny thing is that while I was typing this, my wife looked over my shoulder and rolled her eyes.. She said "you know if we all would spend the same amount of time and effort we are arguing and debating these topics into helping others, maybe we wouldn't be debating and arguing these topics"
She has a point!!!! I am going to try and focus more time on helping others and less time arguing and debating... That may be our only hope for the future of this country...
