Dukam,
I have a band on my dog's collar for the same reason. Fellow winged a greenhead that fell 300+ yards across a rice field. Bet me my dog couldn't pick it up without me walking out part of the way. When the dog got back with the bird he gave the dog the band. It was a couple of years ago in Woodruff Co AR. Bird was banded 2 yrs before in ND (not sure where off the top of my head).

Finally killed one last wednesday in a storm. First fat greenhead of the morning. When my dog returned it to the blind I saw the band and freaked i said finally after all the leg checking I've done this year. Our club has killed 300 or so ducks this year that was the only band. I had to get this one mounted it was to perfect. My taxidermist bill this year is going to be staggering Ross goose, redhead, widgeon, banded greenhead wheeeew! I got some great pictures i can send to someone to post cuz i can't figure it out. johnt_ms@yahoo.com
