Postby camlock » Mon Sep 21, 2015 9:01 am

planted all plots this weekend...hot and dry with no a lot of promise on forecast...BUT I didn't have a lot of choices on dates to get it done...finished up about 3 pm yesterday afternoon...it rained from 3 am - 8 am last night/this morning...

I'm over here all like.

 That pic. Gary.......................................Busey (for the John Boy & Billy fans).

They planted some Saturday and Sunday at our camp and all we got was a street wetter apparently with none in sight.

That could spell trouble if it was enough to germinate the seed.

We planted on the 12th and I'm starting to worry just how much can the turkeys eat up.

Anybody else plant Saturday? We got ours done in SW Hinds Cty about 2 hours before the rains de it there. Working in that dust wasn't the best, and I hope it didn't rain too hard. It was the first time this dirt had been disked, maybe ever.

re-seeded sat a.m. and fertilized sun p.m. before rain set in...been feeding turkeys high quality seed for a while. looked like deer scrapes all over, but it was turkeys scratchin' in the chalk dust (3 hens and 7 or 8 poults on cam).
