You make a good point though. I think that the reason we classify PETA as liberals is because they as a whole share many of the same views on other issues as democrats, even though they are clearly "radically conservative" on the animal issue.

I agree benny. The sooner that we let this party system fail (in my mind it already has to some extent) the sooner we can get back to a people's gov't. Right now the way our gov't works, one million voices can't be heard, much less one. The gov't gets bought out by big business and drowns us out.

This is one tax I'm for. Those slime balls (tobacco CEO's) stood before congress and the nation and lied through their teeth about tampering with nicotine levels claiming they "were not" trying to addict people to tobacco all the while doing just that. And targeting our children. If a black market would not occur I'd be for raising the taxes to a point the vast majority of folks would never start the nasty habit due to cost.

“Most” smokers are some of the brain deadest people I can think of. They thump their cigarette butts everywhere as if the butts were not trash. They pollute the air we breathe as if we enjoy inhaling their stink. And the most ridiculous act they commit is when you see poor kids riding down the road having to inhale that poison because they do not have a choice. Tax the hell out of them; tobacco companies and the users.

I see that the academics are starting to influence you to the point of being verbose.

As for conservative PETA members, I suppose it depends on your perspective--If you believe that a boy is a rat is dog is a pig and that each of the aforementioned have the same rights.....then a conservative label could apply. Assuming of course there has been some judicial body to confirm such rights---as of this moment, I can't think of any court that has conformed a rat's right to life to be equal to that of a boy....but give it time and some one will try and establish said right.

If you are buddhist or a hindu practicing the philosophy of ahisma and believe all animals are sentient beings with souls then perhaps to you are the 'radical' because you don't extend those same rights to carrots,peas or squash---certainly a vegetarian or even a vegan would not wish to see vegetables given legal protection much less have the Bill of Rights applied to said mixed vegetables---and heaven forbid we give said vegetables the right to marry!!

Even in my official capacity as The Grand High Rutabagga of the The First Church of Unviversal Carrot Worship, I would caution anyone to look at labels as merely relevant only to an indication or perspective or even prejudice.

As one of the earlier posts indicated---its ok to spew some of what passes for intellectuall tripe back to get a grade----but realize the true danger is believing your own $#!+ as defined by people who have been able to convince society that they hold the keys to "higher learning", but aren't capable of changing the oil in their automobiles.

Take it from someone who has enough college hours to qualify for a doctorate--if someone didn't periodically swab the spit outta of their mouth--most sociologist would drown

watch yer topknot and don't take any of that liberal/conservative label stuff too seriously--after all despots are despots regardless of political affiliation
