Pendulum sight

Anyone shoot a pendulum. I am thinking about getting one this year and want some imput on the different brands and etc.

My brother shot one for a year....... come to think of it, thats the same year my tracking skills were tested to their extent!!

pendulums are basically made for long distance shooting, the thing about muzzle loaders is you want to bring the deer in close to you before you shoot. If you want to shoot a deer long distance get a rifle that can make the shot. Other wise you will be tracking that deer for a ways. Anything over a 100 yards should really not be shot at anyway with a muzzle loader. Thats what the regular hunting season is for, just my .02

Me too, but this still doesn't change the fact that I don't know anyone that shoots one!

Well I have been out of gunsmithing way too long. Are they now making pendulum sights for guns... And if so WHY?

Or was this another Msduck expert screwup... BAWAHAHAHAHAHA

I was talking about a bow sight. I know of 4 folks who hunt with, one of them is one of the best bow hunters I know. He shoots one of the older models I think it a keller, and Matt when this guy pulls trigger you dont have to worry about your tracking skills. That tells me it may not have been the sight.

Main Drawback is noise...I've used the Savage, the Keller and the Mantis...of the three I like the mantis the best, being able to lock it down is nice (the Keller locks down too), and it's quieter than the other two (but I changed bows last year when I put it on so that could have something to do with it)...I've had good success and killed all of my deer with a bow using a pendulum sight, even converted 2 buddies to 'em...that being said, being the tinkerer I am, I put a Toxonics pin sight on this spring, and I think I'll be leaving it on for bow season...but you never can tell... :twisted:

several years ago I had a Keller pendulum on my bow. I am here to tell you that thing was great. From 0 to 30+ yards a deer was toast. A bit noisy like people indicated, but it worked period. I bought 2 cheapo Cobra sights from wally world, and with a little modification I turned one of them into the mounting bracket for my keller, and left the other one like it was..only I replaced their steel pins with tru-glo's. All I had to do was loosen the knob, slide one sight out, and slide the other one in depending on my hunting setup.
