This dude GAVE Georgia Tech the game. Auburn's defense looked pretty strong, but when the offense (quarterback) turns the ball over on FIVE straight drives, you're not gonna win many ballgames. How long before fans on the Plains start the aforementioned website?

We were running every blitzing scheme in the book at the kid... not many first year starters wouldn't have cracked. After looking at the tape, though... you've got to figure everyone left on their schedule will be doing the same thing until he can prove he can handle it. I'm just glad to see a game where OUR quarterback doesn't just hand the other team the game for a change!
Now, if we can just beat UGA... damn... I'm getting WAY ahead of myself!

Miami, Virginia and Virginia Tech... all on the road!
I see us winning 1... maybe 2 of those if we're lucky.
The Dawgs looked damn good against those guys from the blue field... but next week IS Spurrier. Still, I think Richt has a little too much firepower for even that curse now.
I saw your posts on the other forum... glad you, Melissa and the twins got over to Monroe and out of Katrina's way. Y'all stay safe.

Bingo.
They'll bounce back.....they have alot of talent. Just got to get in sync with a new QB. Tough to win throwing 44 times on your first start against a good Tech team.

Sambo, don't worry unless they get pummelled by State...then it'll be benchcox.com and firetubby.com....(but, I really don't think you have anything to worry about)....
gumbo, we looked pretty good, except rushing was a bit dissapointing...I just hope we execute as well next week, and cut down on the penalties (we gotta work on that)....

I think this was pretty much obvious to many, except Tuberville and the media. I predicted that Auburn would struggle on offense this season, and IMO, my prediction was not going out on a limb ---Captain Obvious. But, Tuberville boldly declared at media days that this year's team may be his best yet and most talented.
Defensively, maybe. Offensively, far from it. GT is NOT a title contender. Auburn was supposed to be a title contender per Tub and the media.
Look for MSU to give Auburn all they want next Saturday. An upset could be in the works. Conner is as good or better than the GT QB. And Norwood is as good or better and the GT RB. Defensively, I would say MSU and GT's defenses are close to being equal. MSU's receivers look improved over last year ----especially the emergence of Humphries (sp?).
Croom will poor mouth publicly. But, he has got to be privately licking his chops and thinking this one could be a "W". Should be interesting.

I'm just glad that our receivers have finally learned how to catch. We ran three deep post routes, three touchdowns. The wr's and backs made some catches sat that they wouldn't have in the past. Croom told them straight up, you don't catch, you don't play.
I'll tell you who's having some major wr trouble with catching, and that's fat Phil and Tenn. They dropped more against UAB than I can remember.
Mario Hill looks to be the go-to guy for UM, verdict is still out on Espy and Biddle after some key drops yesterday. Three otherthrown passes should've been td's yesterday, 2 by spur, 1 by lane. Spurry would be Charile Ward for 3 plays, then same old spur the next 3. I didn't understand zero's decision for putting Lane in, could've cost them the game. Hudgens did ok, but if the kicker hadn't broken his foot UM may have been in trouble. UM did what they had to do, shutdown De and did so........but I still would've been handing off to De inside the 5 with over 20 sec left.

Biddle didn't have any drops..... Espy did, it was odd to see Biddle make 2 or 3 good grabs without dropping one...... Pittman's drop hurt, he had 5 blockers in front of him and a memphis corner back, that was all that was b/w him and the endzone..... plus the 4 overthrows at the endzone..... with a few corrections we'll look better, make 2 or 3 catches and the game is 24-6, however that's football
Sun rise in the east.... and it sets up in the West, yes the sun rise in east baby, and it sets up in the west..... It's hard to tell, hard to tell, hard to tell, which one, which one I love best.....

Same for Memphis - 2 less interceptions and it's 20-3, but that's football. Especially the last int. The game came extremely close to being 13-3 and a loss for Ole Miss.
Those teams were very evenly matched. Statistically, Ole Miss had about 50 more passing yards, but everywhere else the stats were pretty close.
But where it counts, on the scoreboard, Ole Miss eeked this one out.
