Ole Miss & Vandy
One helluva game.....I am liking these 05-06 Rebels, these guys are playing some awesome ball. Spurlock messed up a finger/hand or something.

tell it like it is..... we played like $H!T, i had to keep mottlet from throwing my couch at the tv..... too many mental mistakes (penalties, not throwing hte ball away on that last play, i think we had 8 drops.....) not to mention 0 kicking game, just doesn't add up to a win..... i think i know how gumbo felt last week, only he said vandy got lucky... we just got our butts handed to us....... you could say had willis not been injured the defense would have done better, probably true, but that's football, when somebody goes down, somebody's gotta step up and make some plays, russell looked ok but is still really green.......
Sun rise in the east.... and it sets up in the West, yes the sun rise in east baby, and it sets up in the west..... It's hard to tell, hard to tell, hard to tell, which one, which one I love best.....

Vandy let UM back into the game, otherwise it's a blowout.
Bullschit and you know it. Only way Vandy blows out anybody in that game is if they're playing State. I guess only reason State lost last week was because they let Auburn back in it, huh? Oh wait, they didn't score.
Irregardless, this is another topic. OMG, WTF just happened? Two weeks. That's how long our defensive "guy" coach had to get ready for Cutler. What the hell was he doing? We had to put Cutler on his booty and we didn't. Period. Why we stubbornly refused to bring more than the front four, I'll never know.
If David Cutcliffe walked in the door right now, I'd shoot him. Did he think Nichols would never graduate? Missed field goal and blocked PAT (that is completely on the kicker's shoulders) were the difference in this game. If Orgeron doesn't use that highly praised recruiting ability to go out and find a kicker, I'll shoot him too. Football coaches may not like it. Football fans may not like it. But kickers are a vital part of winning football games and if you don't have a DECENT one, it'll cost you wins.
Anybody that still thinks Lane should have been the starter is a nincompoop. WHAT WAS HE THINKING ON THE LAST PLAY?? Spurlock took a ton of schit last year when he did that kinda BS and he deserved it. That play was idiotic. Did he not look at the clock before he snapped the ball? Spurlock is a play maker. Made losses into first downs and was the victim of entirely too many dropped passes. His ability to make guys miss is amazing.
This ain't your daddy's Vandy, but they're still not that good. Ole Miss secondary didn't make ANY plays. Ten to twenty yard completions killed us. Needed plays from the DB's to keep Cutler from just picking us apart. See above about the baffling lack of pressure. The loss of Willis undoubtedly hurt us there. O-line for Ole Miss is still sub-par. Spurlock had to do entirely too much "evading" and of our rushing yards were entirely dependent on Mico's speed and ability to turn the corner outside (how about that field reversal? That dude is QUICK!!).
I'm still digesting it all and a bunch of folks prolly know more about football than I do...so go to it. Congrats to Vandy on getting it done and coming away with the win. My only prediction is this...if Spurlock's hand is broken and Willis can't rehab that knee, I see us beating the Citadel...maybe State. That's it. Honeymoon's over "O".
Dang teal left my lease 'fore this weekend and then we go and lose to Vandy...whata weekend this is turnin' into. Make it tall and strong barkeep...

Well.........compared to the previous years Ole Miss teams I say they are improving. Sure there were mistakes made and you can find mistakes in any ball game. But hey this not a perfect world and these guys are on a steep uphill climb. They played hard and it was an interesting game to watch.
That's just my 2 cents...

Vandy did not let UM back in the game. The Rebels came out in the second half and played ball for a quarter and a half. The first half they sucked all around. The kicking game was pathetic to say the least.
That logic of saying Vandy let UM back in is about a dumb a statement you made last week when you said Auburn was a very winnable game. Yeah the first half was a blowout but the second UM made a game of it. MState was out of their game last week from the word go. The difference is UM has scored against a D1 team

Spurlock missed three KEY 1st down conversions when he kept the ball. He ran out of bounds with two yards twice and inches again...No Balls...He completed 50% of his passes. He overthrew and threw behind and yes...I'll repeat myself and say that Hill couldn't catch the clap in a Mexican whore house. We had this one in the bag in the first quarter and got REAL sloppy. The Rebs better step it up.
That was the first missed extra point in 118 attempts. We forgot how important they are. To get the game to OT would have taken a 2 pt conversion and that's not a good spot to be in. In fact - I'll go as far as saying that the come from behind deflated our momentum and cost us the game.
I hope Vandy beats the rest of the SEC. They have one hell of a QB.

Spurlock had 7 drops... all extremely catchable balls, with those drops he's over 60 % passing and over 250 yards with a td..... could he have done more than run out on those two plays ?? possibly Would he have made to the 1st down marker ?? not likely..... QB's are taught from the moment they step on campus to avoid contact, the purpose of the slide, etc etc like i said earlier, the blame goes on the entire team, balls were dropped, fg's missed, takcles missed, assignments missed, etc etc etc etc

Rebelyelp - I agree but dad gummit slide instead of pulling out at 90 degrees with 4 yards between him and the defender. Yep - the blame goes to the whole team cause we looked sloppy.
I hope Spurlock is OK because I think he got burned in today. He'll play better from this point on. Lane aint the guy....
We still would have kicked the schit out of MSU today
