What. You feelin' froggy? Jump.

Plenty of Ole Miss fans on this board have shown up and taken their medicine. To the letter, we've all said that Ole Miss played a schitty game. No excuses about how it wasn't the "real" Spurlock. No excuses about how "we won the game between the 20s." And I can't seem to recall anyone crowing about the greatness of this particular Ole Miss team before the game.

What was the score of the MSU/Vandy game last year?

how hard was it for State to beat Tulane???? A Tulane team certainly not prepared to be playing football, even if they were any good to begin with....

it damn sure wasn't the same michael spurlock from last year..... heck, if mario hill, taye biddle, and alan abrams make catches that hit them in their hands, he's over 60 % passing with right at 300 yards.... go figure

All I can say about the QB thing is that Spurlock hasn't done bad and he is much improved from last season...But as Rebel fans, we should all be glad Robert Lane is finally taking the field from start to finish. We may actually be able to work our way into a somewhat effective offense...

Spurlock wasn't a leader, just an athlete, not a QB, no matter how much his accuracy improved. It's about leadership and confidence, it's cerebral.

We had no confidence on offense, we had no leader...

Spurlock led the second half comeback. Spurlock consistently bought enough time to throw despite a horrendous offensive line. Dropped passes kept Spurlock from completing sixty percent of his passes and throwing for 300 yards. The guys whose job it is to catch the ball want Spurlock throwing it to them. If he can play, Smilin' Mike is the guy that should be taking the snaps. But it's probably moot.

Lane killing the clock by running around like a chicken with his head cut off instead of throwing the ball away on the last play hardly gives me confidence in the "cerebral" capabilities.

with all due respect camlock...... i've been to 3 practices a week since i got back up here, and Spurlock has become a heck of a leader on offense...... everybody on that offense clicks around him, much like they do lane.... Lane is a more vocal leader, but to say that mike isn't a leader is an unfounded statement

Spurlock may be a leader in the locker room and at practice, but during the game, on the field...he isn't leading the team...

I give Mike credit for lots of improvement and he does make some plays with the abilities, and without his injury he's done nothing to lose his job...but given the situation and that fact there is nothing we can do about it....I belive Robert Lane will turn out to be a much better quarterback overall once he's had time to take the team and go with it...

Mottlet....Lane was rushed in for 3 plays and no warmups in what you might could call a "high pressure" situation...that is a ridiculous comparison. It was a dumb mistake no doubt, but no more equally dumb than Spurlock running out of bounds in the 4th quarter no knowing what freaking down it is (YOUR THE F*ING QUARTERBACK) or not knowing how many men he has on the line of scrimmage on 3rd down...so if you wanna draw stupid inferences, how bout Lane wouldn't made his mistake had Spurlock not made some of his, or you could even blame it on a receiver if you want, whatever...

both qb's made mistakes, lane should have thrown the ball away, spurlock should have run out of bounds better, but he wouldn't have made the 1st down anyway so it's a moot point, he had 3 defenders bearing down on him.... Lane's problem has not been leadership or being tough, it's been his ability, or lack thereof, to pass, he has shown improvement in practice this year, but still leaves alot to be desired most of the time, hopefully he'll step up his game.

camlock, you use the same sn on rivals ?? you know what i'm talking about with all this, i'm probably preaching to the choir by stating where lane's inabilities have been.

Let me see if I can remember since the msu history site is under construction. I want to say we lost 30-17 or 27-17. Conner was out with a sprained ankle and York couldn't do crap, had one 96 yd td called back for a bogus penalty. Norwood rushed for over 200 yds but the defense couldn't stop Cutler.
