National Championship

Who is it going to be and will the BCS show it's ugly face of failure again? From the way I see it, you have 5 or 6 real contenders, and that is less than the number of unbeatens to date. I belive USC may lose a game. Odds are they will eventually and I for one would love to see it. If ND gives them the loss, they are automatically in the NC hunt even with a loss. Bama and Georgia will knock one or the other out if they can remain unbeaten till then. Texas looks like a walk in the park from here on out. Penn State would make a great story. Florida State has a defense but are overrated in general. Who can come out of the tangled web and be the next National Champion? I believe it will be the 'Horns. Maybe vs. Alabama or Florida State. Oh wait, I forgot Virginia Tech.......naw, they will lose for sure?
Are we gonna get wet?

4 team playoff is the best solution.

"4 team playoff is the best solution."

It is certainly the next logical step, which could be done without changing the entire college football world and bowl system. But, it has one major flaw ---it makes too much sense to enact.

I say a 10 game regular season.

16 team playoff and let the bowls from today keep their sponsorships.

Then their would be a real NC.

I agree with webduck and bigwater, I would like to see a playoff.

I voted for Texas but it is still along ways away and anything can happen. I believe USC is in a very weak conference compared to alot of other teams which helps them stay healthy in the long run. Given that I dont see FSU competing for it, and I am a FSU fan. They are good but not great although it seems they are getting better each week. I think Georgia and Bama could have a shot to play in the NC.

I don't see LSU in that poll?????? :D :D
This is the weakest the SEC has looked in a long time

If 2 teams in the SEC are undefeated and playing in the SECCG, there is no way you can call it a weak conference or keep them out of the NC.

This is hypothetical of course...it just so happens that UA and UGA are undefeated. However, I dont see Alabama going undefeated.

it's not really that the conference is weak, it's suffering from parity...i mean the SEC keeps beatin' up on each other and everbody thinks were havin' a bad year...wait till bowl season to see how weak we are....

the other real problem with the SEC is new coaches this year...it takes time to adjust and find the players that suit that new regime...Les Miles, Urban Meyer, Coach O, and even SOS are trying to take what they have and make it fit, and a lot of times it's like stuffing a round peg into a square hole...it's not easy....

i'm cautiously optomistic...of course this is supposed to be a "rebuilding" year for what that's worth.

Pac-10 is so much stronger this year than the Big-12 it's ridiculous. I agree with you that the Pac-10 is usually a pretty weak conference, but this year is the exception to the rule. Not really because the Pac-10 is that much stronger than they usually are, but other conferences seem to be a bit down. Big-12 definitely is. Texas Tech is a fad I keep hoping will just go away, but they also appear to be the only possible hiccup for the Longhorns.
