weedmaster how do you figure that states schedule is favorable???

My bad. Ole Piss has the favorable schedule....its so easy to get these 2 scools confused  But then again, they are Ole Piss, so I'm not sure they know what a favorable schedule looks like.
Anytime you have Vandy and Kentucky as 2 of your Eastern Conf. opponents, thats a good thing.

I hope Ole Miss makes a liar out of me.

Big question mark at QB and an unproven coach....don't worry.

I really don't buy the fact that Auburn has the coaching and leadership to overcome the loss of Campbell, Brown, and Williams.

Leadership maybe. But AU has one of the best coaching staffs in the SEC. Not to mention, Al Borges (OC) was the one who should get alot of the credit for last year.

Now that we are 2 to 3 games into the season, I thought it would be interesting to go back and review my predictions as well as those of others in this thread. Except for my biased , through red and blue glasses analysis of my Rebs, so far I think my pre-season assessment is looking pretty accurate. Who knows, if my Rebs can steal one that they were not supposed to win ---to make up for the Vandy loss ---then I may still turn out to be prophetic. If Lane is indeed up to the task, then the Rebs could get better with each game. Sure can't get much worse. We'll know a lot more about that on Saturday.

There really hasn't been that much out of the ordinary up to this point except for Vanderbilt.

Still a little too early.

"Still a little too early."

True, but we are getting perhaps a glimpse of things to come. For the
Tide, that would be good. For my Rebs, not so good.

I'm quietly optimistic...but at the same time know what a few injuries will do.

Boy was I ever wrong. It got "worse" in a hurry.

Throw out my UM prediction, and I'm still looking pretty good. It is hard to see clearly through my Red and Blue glasses.

Alright guys at the mid-point in the season, it looks like a 3 horse race between Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. UM, MSU, and Ark. are so far out, they are out of this world and into the next county.

Final order of finish?

I'm gonna go with defense and say the Tide #1, Auburn #2, and LSU #3. LSU already has one SEC loss. The Tide and Auburn are unbeaten in the SEC, but Auburn has not really played the meat of their SEC schedule yet.
Auburn's offense appears to have enough firepower now, with that great D, to make some noise. Not sold on LSU yet ---too many turnovers ---will catch up with them, despite their overall great team talent.

IF Croyle gets hurt, then the Tide will fade. D alone won't be enough. Hopefully for that young man, his injury days are over. He took some pretty good shots in the UM game and got right up each time ---tough kid.

Auburn has not really been tested yet, except for maybe the season opener when they clearly were not yet ready for prime time. As Webbmaster predicted, all of that changed with their relatively easy early schedule giving them a chance to slowly regroup and gain confidence on the offensive side of the ball.

And the funny thing, at this point, is that an improving Ole Miss team and defense could play a spoiler role in this 3 horse race to the finish. And I would feel really bad about that.

As for the remaining 3 teams (UM, MSU, or Ark.), it is the Weedwacker Bowl at best, and playing for pride and next season most likely.

Even with one loss, LSU still controls their own destiny. Alabama and AU control their own destiny as well.

This weekend is the pivotal point in the SEC West race.

If Auburn wins, LSU will likely be out of it with 2 SEC losses.

If Alabama wins along with AU, then the Iron Bowl will likely determine the SEC West winner.

Webb, I'm not so sure it will end that cleanly. You may turn out to be right. But, I think some blood will be spilled along the way. There could still be a 3 way tie going into the last weekend. Wouldn't that be fun.

I'm assuming that each of those teams beat who they are supposed to beat.

They all 3 play each other.

AU plays UGA.
Bama plays TN.
LSU has already played its 3 opponents from the East, suffering 1 loss.

This weekend will answer alot of questions.
