If USC wins it again this season, they can rightfully claim to be the 3 time defending national champion because they will finish #1 in the BCS 3 yrs in a row even though they didn't "play" in the BCS pre-selected championship bowl game.
USC DID NOT finish #1 in BCS 3 years in a row...they finished #1 last year and #3 in BCS in 03...they finished #1 in AP last 2 years....
Your right, they didn't finish #1 in the BCS 3 years in a row.....because we haven't finished year 3 yet buddy.

Fact of the matter is this....LSU didn't want any of USC in '03, and Auburn didn't wany any of USC in '04. The only reason that LSU is wanting to claim a NC is because they had to play to play #2 ranked OK instead of USC getting to do so...saying that USC got off easy by play #4 ranked Virginia Tech.........plus anytime a school gets to claim a co-something or another, they are gonna do it. Either way, the SEC will always get screwed in the BCS format because they will always have to play in the sugar bowl, which is only selected to be the BCS Championship Game once every 4 yrs if they aren't ranked #1 in the BCS going into the bowl games.
