Buy a big game license. The water's too low.
It's a bloody mary morning...

Sardis

If you have a boat you can hit the river near Hurricane Landing and head east, and usually find a hole somewhere. I've hunted Sardis a few times, and when the water is down, you better know where the sloughs are. I've heard that B. Taylor Slash on the Upper End has produced at times, but I've never hunted it.

I don't know what the water situation is there but I have done well at both Tillman's Pond which is straight out college hill road, and Buzzard Roost which is near Hurricane Landing. If you are going to be in Oxford area you'd be better off going to Wildcat Bottoms near Water Valley just south of Oxford.
Some of these rednecks don't want to help others find spots to hunt. I've heard somebody in Bolivar county poaches anywhere he can. The way I see it is the better you do, the more you like it, then the more you get involved to help someone else. Have a good one.

Bigwater break on the north east corner use to be the hot spot. Better get there early, though. We use to spend the night in the boat just to save a spot.

Hey single barrel-_I hope you dont hunt there now. The reason some of "us rednecks" dont talk about this is because if you say that the coots are really moving @ the Rapids on the Reservoir pool every redneck that reads this board will be there Sat morning @ 4am blasting blackbirds and shiet. Think I am lying, keep posting info on this board and watch your favorite spot slowly fill up with idiots and their spinners!

Sorry guys not trying to steal your spots just want to take my 6yo son out and try to get him his first duck since we will have access to a boat while on vacation. He's been wanting his own mounted duck for the wall.

Wildcats

Postby DuckTater » Tue Nov 29, 2005 12:40 am

Single,

I've heard that Wildcats was good for the first couple o' days of the season and after that it dies off. Also hear that you have to get there way early. Have any of y'all ever hunted there or any of the holes near Prophet Landing?

Guys, if you really want to help somebody, use the private message function. At least it keeps every yahoo with a computer from knowing exactly what area is being talked about. I know, because I did it too once upon a time and I can't get within a mile of the place now. I even had a guy from here in GA PM me and tell me thanks, that he had gone to that spot I talked about and he and his group shot limits two of the three days they hunted in MS.

Some folks take it too far in admonishing others for sharing info, but they have seen the public hunting get sooooo crowded over the last ten years that it is no longer much fun.

Don't mean you can't talk to folks, just keep it on the down low. Use a PM.
Hopeyou guys back home have a great year. And, Peerow, you find that boy a duck!
