I wore coke bottle glasses and contacts for year. I had lasik done on both eyes 8 years ago by Dr. Coleman in Greenwood. I have a little better than 20/20 vision now. As much as you like shooting clays and hunting, your gonna love the end result.
I wouldn't let Coleman touch my eyes if he was the last eye doctor on the face of this earth, just my opinion.

I know several people that had major problems after getting their eyes done by Coleman, both lasik and cataracts.......two of these happen to be relatives. My dad needs cataract surgery bad but won't even go to Coleman for a pre-op eye check because of how his brother's surgery went. My grandmother loves him like a son so I don't know.

I believe I going to book it through McCaa since she uses the new custom-vue machine.
For those of you that have had the surgery, how long does it take you to come out of it? I've read some stuff where you some people were able to go back to work the following day, others had to pace themselves and take things slower with the medicine, etc. I'm wanting to get this done and have enough time to recoup for the MM shoot on the 17th.

I had mine done on a Friday morning, came back home and took a nap. Went to Wal-Mart that night and saw those eye charts they have in customer service and could read off the 20/20 line. Went back for check-up the next morning and went four-wheeler riding that afternoon. A friend of mine that had hers done said her vision was kind of blurry close-up but could see distant fine for a couple of days. It finally cleared up. It's probably different for everyone.
I went to thru the Lasik Eye Institute. Some people say its a 'surgery mill' and I will say there were a lot of people there. However, I had complete individual attention and the Dr. that performed my surgery had performed over 60,000 surgeries at the latest count. Everyone that had gone before me to this place were completely happy. 2 co-workers and a close friend were at 20/20. You have to follow the instructions and use your drops like you are told, however, it is definitely worth it. Best money I have ever spent.
Don Miller:
Main diff is you have to have a 'heart' and this surgery is optional. Optional = negotiable.

You chose wisely.

Come out of it? There is nothing to come out of. They put some numbing drops in your eye, they ask you to lay back on the bed/chair thing, the cover one eye, pull the top layer back on the uncovered eye, tell you to watch the orange blinking light, they go over the amount of laser needed on the particular eye out loud with the other doctors in the room, they turn the laser on (click-click-click-click), they lay the flap back down (the longest part of the procedure and takes about 5-10 minutes per eye), cover that eye with a patch and then do the other eye. They will give you some MAJOR sleeping bills and you go home and sleep with a pair of protective swimmers looking glasses. This is to keep you from rubbing your eyes while sleeping. My entire procedure took 28 minutes. I drove myself to the doctor the very next day (Sunday) for my next day follow up.Greenhead22 wrote:PM sent![]()

My eyesight prior to having LASIK was about 20/400. I could not see without glasses or contacts in. I now have 20/20. Recoup time? The day you sleep will be all the recoup time you will need. I had mine done on Saturday morning, slept that afternoon and have never looked back since nor have I had a second of trouble. My eyes have always been sensative to bright lights at night, so this is normal, but some people have complained about "halo's" with lights at night time. I have always had this problem, so it was not new for me, but if you do have this problem it should go away in about six months.
