Opportunity for Supporters of Alligator Hunting to speak up

Postby TheStump » Wed Sep 13, 2006 9:11 pm

Attn: All hunters.

As is the case with most things, when people agree with something they seldom make comments or voice their opinion. AND, if your against something, then people are usually very vocal. Well, that is happening. The ANTI's are calling the MDWFP and sending web comments because they are disgusted with the fact that alligators are being hunted in Mississippi. I will tell you this, their voice is being heard because they are making sure to write and call. I am not going to coach you (forum users) for comments. I will not go into length to defend alligator hunting or even the hunting of anything here. But, if you support hunting, specifically "alligator hunting" in Mississippi, it's time for your voice to be heard.

You don't have to pose questions, you can just make comments. Be tasteful in your comments. These comments will be documented.

I just sent in my comments.

Thanks Ricky for bringing this to our attention, and for all you have done to allow people to be a part of alligator hunting. See you Friday night!

Thanks, for the "Heads-up", I also sent a response. My thing is Draw System, I DON'T like it. Gators are getting to be a problem everywhere and I can tell right now, I can take anyone to several different farm ponds in Winston County and show you a Gator. They are showing up in places where 10-15 years ago you would never hear anything about a Gator. I would like to see a Open Season, say 1-2 weeks, and then closed for the year, JMHO.

Here's what I wrote if any of you lazy azzez want to copy and paste (With Your Name on the bottom)
To whom it may concern,
It has come to the attention of myself and many other sportsman that there is some (predictable) opposition on the new alligator hunting season. I would like to voice my support on this "debate" in favor of average people being able to participate in the much needed thinning of the allligator popuation on this and any other recreational waterway in our fine state. As it is set up now, this human friendly requirement generates always needed money for the MDWFP,instead of costing money by paying professional trappers and such to take some of these dangerous animals out of the equation of summer activities. People and pets are in constant danger of maneating large alligators, and a culliling therof is an absolute neccessity for limiting risk to skiers, swimmers, and people in and around the waters of the Ross Barnett.
Please keep up the good work! Keep this season alive to increase the potential of sportsmen and women enjoying more days afield, with more species to hunt, and helping conservation officials at the same time.
Thanks for the oppurtunity to voice my opinion.
