Claypool's Reservoir

Postby Goose » Thu Oct 05, 2006 5:05 pm

I just finished reading the article about Claypool's Reservoir in the fall issue of Delta Waterfowl magazine.....wow!!

I had heard the basic story before, but this article gave a few more details, like how they herded the ducks into the staging area, and flushed them with TNT rockets. That's pretty cool!

I wonder what Claypool's Reservoir is like today, and I wonder if there is any way possible to see the original footage from Wild Wide World?

The original footage is available on DVD. Google Capooth plus Claypool and his website ought to come up.

Mack's has the DVD, Claypools Wild Acres. It's about 2+hrs of unbelievable footage with the history of Wallace Claypool's sanctuary. I'd love to hunt Claypools, but I'd settle for the Chase Woods any day.

champ, bullred (aka, steve bowman), one of the fellas responsible for the almanac has a new book out......this one is put together w/ mark stallings.

it's called "the season".........it's kind of a picture essay on the craziness of arkie duck hunting............several (if not more) pictures were taken by a very good friend of mine. i've got to say, for your library, it'd make a heckuva addition.

i have no vested interest, so i hope this doesn't seem like spam, i'm just passing info...........website is:
