Hey, if you boys want to see the Christian Coalition Nutcase magna cum laude, you ought to get to know Ralph Reed. He lives here in Gwinnett County (thankfully, his kids go to private school...just too many of us heathen Methodists and Catholics for his liking in the public schools) and I can tell you...he is a certified, grade-A, registered jackass! The worst crook I know.
Thank goodness folks knew enough to not vote for him for lt. gov.
I have no problem with committed Christians. By its nature, Christianity is extreme. But it is an EXTREMELY personal thing. I never have seen anything that says you can become a born again Christian by becoming part of a group. I have seen where you can make a personal choice...then become a member of a group of caring, committed people. What I do not believe is part of God's plan is the extreme form of "group-think" that goes on in the far right spaces of Christianity or any other religious group. Fact is, i like being with a group of others whose belief system is similar to mine, and I enjoy supporting and being supported.
But, I draw the line when someone wants to tell me what to believe and how to believe it. Only one person has that authority, and he in his trinity is the only person who I will ever have to account to.
The day the Conservative Coalition became a political orginization, that is the day I knew it was not "of God." Give that to Ceasar which is Ceasar's, and to God that which is his. No orginization of Ceasar will ever tell me how to live my life of Faith.
Sini!
