Skeeter, not trying to call you out but, if Bill Clinton would have made that statement, would you feel the same way about it? Just curious.

Hey, if you boys want to see the Christian Coalition Nutcase magna cum laude, you ought to get to know Ralph Reed. He lives here in Gwinnett County (thankfully, his kids go to private school...just too many of us heathen Methodists and Catholics for his liking in the public schools) and I can tell you...he is a certified, grade-A, registered jackass! The worst crook I know.

Thank goodness folks knew enough to not vote for him for lt. gov.

I have no problem with committed Christians. By its nature, Christianity is extreme. But it is an EXTREMELY personal thing. I never have seen anything that says you can become a born again Christian by becoming part of a group. I have seen where you can make a personal choice...then become a member of a group of caring, committed people. What I do not believe is part of God's plan is the extreme form of "group-think" that goes on in the far right spaces of Christianity or any other religious group. Fact is, i like being with a group of others whose belief system is similar to mine, and I enjoy supporting and being supported.
But, I draw the line when someone wants to tell me what to believe and how to believe it. Only one person has that authority, and he in his trinity is the only person who I will ever have to account to.

The day the Conservative Coalition became a political orginization, that is the day I knew it was not "of God." Give that to Ceasar which is Ceasar's, and to God that which is his. No orginization of Ceasar will ever tell me how to live my life of Faith.

Sini!

Listen up George... I don't care what you call the Religous Right. Just secure the border, clear out the Sunni Triangle in Iraq, put out notice to Iran and NK. Shape up or were sending over a couple of nukes with your name on it... I tired of this wishy washy crap..

Religion sometimes makes me sick. Now don't talk bad about me or think I have turned to the dark side. :D Think about it. I am a christian and I know that and all of my friends know that and now you know that (if you are reading this) Well people think you have to do certain things or dress a certain way to be a christian. I was on a mission trip not o long ago and we were in the some of the worst pats of St. Louis and we were worshipping the Lord and serving the Lord. We were dirty and sweatya and had been doing yard work when we decided to have a worship service right then and ther. the bible says that there are 2 thing you have to do in Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. It does not say you have to wear a suit or anything else. I know Jeseus died on a cross was buried and rose again 3 days later to pay a debt I could not possibly pay. And as Joshua sasy as for me and my house, We will serve the lord. We will do it the way the bible says not the way the world tells me to. It is kinda like what outrpreacher said the other Sunday. He said that the world is trying to make it where you go to jail for preaching the gospel and he told us that if that happens we will have to find a new preacher because he was headed to jail preaching the whole way about the saving power of Jesus.

Lilburn, Gwinnett County.

Rusty, I agree right up to the part where you say the world is trying to jail people for preaching. Not here in the USA! Fact is, the law says you have a right to believe anything you want, and the law will protect your practice of that faith. But, what it will not protect is when you begin to insist that everyone must believe as you do. Our founding fathers were mostly men of God, and I believe, chosen by God for this mission.

And it is right that the Constitution protects the individual from governmental control of religion. But, it also has a part that protects the government from religion! That's what Jesus was referring to when he said the thing about "Give to Ceasar...", using taxes for the lesson. Religion and government, when they become the same thing, become what we see in the Muslim world...kill anyone who does not accept our belief system.

Be very careful of politicians who use religion as a springboard. It will be one like that who will come as the Anti-Christ, trying to unite the world under one religion/government.

Enough on this one for me!
