Never had a paint problem with the first batch and I still have some of those decoys.
I'm pretty sure the ones I'm getting are the new style because they just came in at the warehouse.
Everybody has paint problems. HC, Flambeau, GHG, Carry-lite, Higdon, etc. I have never owned a decoy that hasn't lost paint or leaked or something.

Weight
TJ,
I was at Sportsman's Warehouse yesterday and saw a rig that used a standard 6oz strap weight. Tie-off holes we drilled into both ends and a short piece of 1/4" shock cord was secured to each hole. The "top" hole also is the string tie-off. The idea is to wrap the string, then loop the shockcord.
I've got some shock cord at the house. Come by and you can see if this will work for you.
BTW everyone, SW has great deal on the Hunter's Specialty decoy bags. The 30x40 (2 dozen) bag was on clearance for $10. I got the last really big bag for $15.

Yes, the new style hot-buy keels work with Ace anchors. As mentioned, the keels are triangular in shape (top is narrower) and the front lip is turned down.
I also saw the strap weight/ shock cord system and it is a good idea.
Sportsman's Warehouse in Southaven is selling GHG hot-buys for $20/dozen right now. They can't keep them in stock.

i think everyone should just go to wally world and pay $19 a dozen for weighted keel flambeaus and you dont have to worry about which weights to use because you can get the plain ol' cheap weights when you buy them and then you are ready to go... another good thing about this is that if anything ever happens to them put them back in the box and take them back and get new ones... ITS WAL-MART, they take anything back....
A friend will bail you out of jail but a good friend will be sittin next to you saying damn that was fun.

Probably why when I bought the last two dozen they charged Me 39 bucks per doz. Something was not right but the grandson was really tired of Me looking at stuff and not buying him another wooden double barrel. So times its easier to be taken than to explain to a 6 year old Why we aint leaving.
