Under Armour?

Postby Crash219 » Thu Nov 30, 2006 10:00 pm

Does anyone wear the Under Armour stuff? If so, is it "all that" or just another "gettin' in the huntin' game" marketing thing? I looked at some today and they are proud of the stuff. What say you?

I've never used it, but I've never heard one bad word about it.

Fat kid here, I wear the loose gear during warm weather. Works great to keep the frickin spiders off of me, or at least it makes me feel better. As far as the tight warm stuff, my dad and brother both wear it and love it. I for one am too poor to own much of it and woudl also look like a stuffed sausage in it.=Ace

It works better than any base layer I've ever used. That being said, it's no miracle worker. I've gotten cold wearing it. It is really good at keeping sweat off of you, which is clutch when you're trying to stay warm. But damn it is TIGHT and takes some gettin' used to.

For cold weather get the compresion fit. I had all the other thermals you could think of......all I have now is the underarmour. It better be pretty cold to put it on. it is worth the 100.00 you will pay for a set.

If you want a slightly cheaper much more effective product, buy Patagonia Capilene. They have various weights depending on use. This stuff is designed by people who are experts in insulation -- mountain climbers and such. UA is designed by a Maryland grad wanting a different type of exercise clothes. I know Patagonia, North Face and Mountain Hardware are and have been "the in vogue" thing amongst the college crowd, but the stuff is designed with purpose and works.

I have and underarmor top, that I wear and it works great. I really like it, but I do not like the bottoms. They are too tight in places where things should not be tight. I still wear duofolds on the bottom, my legs don't get cold anyway.

I didn't like my bottoms til recently. They get much more comfortable when you wear them with nothing (yes nothing) underneath...

Sounds like a personal problem. You really shouldn't air your bottom problems on the internet.
