Jeff, I think you have some pent up anger issues with the retailer that need to be addressed.

I know the manager of the sporting goods department at a Wal-Mart. He told me that with Wal-Mart's return policy, people would buy guns, hunt with them all year, then return them and "say" something was wrong with them. Several years agao, he told me because of this they were looking at getting out of the gun business.......on the positive side, my friends and I bought many "defective" guns at a big discount.......don't tell me Wal Mart is hard to deal with.....

A little reality check....Wal Mart doesn't put smaller stores out of business, the people that choose to buy at Wal-Mart rather than the smaller stores put the small stores out of business.....you have a choice

Stitch, don't criticize a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes.

You may say they do good buisness, but if you say that obviously you have NEVER tried to conduct buisness in Wal-Mart. Until you have don't imply that we know nothing. By doing buisness, I don't mean shopping there either. I promise if you do buisness with Wal-Mart you will get burned sooner or later. Oh and by the way.................

I hate walmart. Sometimes I go months and months without going into a walmart. And when i finally do, I remember why I hate it so much. travis

Man I tried to put the stuff into words, and about 3/4 of the way through I ran out of room in one post. If someone wants to know, just call me.

Here are some things I have witnessed at wal-mart:

1. a greeter has massive hip surgery, and can't stand up, she also can't afford to not work, so she comes to work, greets people, and sits on a bar stool at the door. She is then told no wal mart employee is allowed to sit on the job, she must stand. So the then looses the bar stool, and uses a buggy to lean against. This is denied, and so she tries to go without. She finally is forced to quit. She was desperate for work, couldn't find any and puts a gun to her head after no employment and a bad hip.

2. A customer hits one of my employees, because he is drunk. I refuse service to him. He calls 1-800-wal mart complains, and I have the manager of the store in my office. He asks what happened and I told him. He then gets the customers side of the story, and the customer ends up with a 1000 dollar gift card so he wont sue for discrimination (he was mexican), I have no say in the matter.

3. I have one good employee that works for wal mart in the vision center, she has been there 10 years, and does a fairly adequate job. They fire her simply becuase she has been there too long and making too much money.

I could go on and on, as I said this is a very sore subject for me, if someone wants more details, call me I'll tell you whatever you want to know, I just don't feel like typing anymore.

I have worked with several clerks that have retired from there with over a million dollars in Wal-Mart stock.

They might have changed their ways, but these folks were with Wal-Mart for allot of years and they did fairly well for themselves.

To each his own with Wal-Mart...obviously Jeff and others have business issues with them and I can respect that. From a customers/consumers viewpoint ole Sam was way ahead of his time...used to be you buy something and it breaks 5 minutes after you walk out of the door, then tough titty...but he changed all of that. They know they get hosed a LOT with returns but are still willing to do it b/c it gets people in the door. They keep the blue collar people happy for the most part.

As for me..I would rather get my eye teeth pulled than shop there b/c of the crowds. Others go there b/c of lower prices....BULL BUTTER, Sure you may save 20 cents on milk and toothpaste but spend another $175 on junk you don't need. Just my .02$

I've also seen articles concerning actual biz with Wal-Mart. As in if you have a product you want to sell there. They will lowball you so much, part of their rolling back prices, to the point where you can't sell your stuff to them.

[b]Wow!!!! What happened to made in the USA campaign at Wal-mart????
I will tell you.....THE SEARCH FOR CHEAPER PRICES (big box better deals). To get it cheaper you have to make it in China or someplace like that. Thats driven our guys and gals out of jobs here in the USA. I agree that WALLY WORLD hasn't put anyone out of business.....YOU AND I HAVE!!! YOU AND I(yes me too)! One DEAL at a time. We consumers have cheapened the products we buy. One deal at a time. Then we complain about the piece of crap we have in our hands. GO FIGURE!! Talk about cheap.....we settle for less at WM everyday. Lets see Mary Jo show you an item thats better suited for your purpose or need. Maybe another item that you didn't even know was on the market because some people believe if it is not on a shelf at WMART its not even made. Lets see her or him ORDER you a NONSTOCKED item. Lets see them mount and boresight a scope, line a reel, help you set up that game camera!!!! etc, etc, etc. Go somewhere the guy behind the counter buys the goods for the entire store, or owns the place, or has access to whatever your hearts desire.....he will KNOW far more than the "ASSOCIATE/WEEKEND WARRIOR/THERE FOR THE PAYCHECK" big box person that could care less whether or not they ever see you again because he is gonna get a paycheck anyway and spend it THERE on VIDEO GAMES or whatever!!! Thats the reason we take our big box stuff to a REAL SPORTSMANS store to let them figure out whats going on. And thats when they offer us advice on gun-scope-bases-rings-ammo etc. Some of us would take the advice, some would say " man dat guy tried to sell me a bunch of crap." Here's one I like" I bought a shotgun at BIGMART and it jams all the time, I also got a case of those $20 shells at BIGMART." READ THE LABEL!!! They aint cheap fo no reason. DRAMS=POWDER and OUNCES=SHOT!!! Take enough out and you better be shooting a pump. But us REAL GUYS KNOW THAT RIGHT?! As far as Wally World's return policy goes. WM is one of the largest outlets of most manufactures merchadise. With that type of ONE retailer volume sure they will take most anything back because the manufactures bow to whatever they want. BUT WHERE CAN YOU GO GET SNUFF, PAMPERS, SNOOP DOG, VIAGRA, AND A SHOTGUN UNDER ONE ROOF!!!!! YOU GO SAM WALTON
