Where in the heck....

Postby Dutch Dog » Sun Dec 15, 2002 4:47 pm

Are all the ducks? We put over 100 miles on my wifes van yesterday looking for ducks. We saw a grand total of 2, yes 2 ducks at askew (woodies in the creek), about 50 to 75 ducks in a flooded field along arkabutla dam road (usually this field has upwards of 1000 ducks in it during duck season). 0 snow geese and that's almost unheard of in the delta. Went by 2 boat ramps on arkabutla. one that is usually covered up with vehicles during duck season had 1 rig parked there. The other had 3 rigs and one of them was fishing because we saw him launch as we were getting there, pretty sure one of the other two were fishing too, because the trailer said something indicating that it was for a ranger bass boat. Do any of you down south of here have any ducks? Nothing specific not even what part of the state you are from, but anywhere south of Tunica...are there any ducks? What about north of here up and down the river?? any ducks from here to the bootheel of MO? This next week I will be working 6 days and approx 60 hours, so don't worry I aint gonna hunt your ducks!

I have no idea where the ducks are. Went scouting most of the weekend and saw very few ducks in the Delta. I think that it is just too warm for them. It needs to drop down so that our highs are in the 40s not the 60s. The 60s for highs feel nice if you have something to do outside other than hunt ducks, but it is not very ducky weather. Hopefully things will change soon.
