floating blind

we built one by putting big aerator floats on it and then mounted adjustable length metal poles on all corners so you can float the blind out to where you want it, then loosen up a bolt to let the legs go down to the bottom, tighten it up and you have a stable blind. Then just let the legs up when you need to move it. The legs were the key for us and we have hunted 5 guys from this blind with no problems. If you just rely on floats it probably wont ever be really stable but then again if the water is deeper than say 10 feet or so the legs can become impractical

go to wildlifeproperties.com. They have some plans that allow a boat to be docked at the blind. Good looking plan if you hunt where you need a boat to get to it.

Barrels can be a problem too if the place you hunt is public... seen lots of holes in blue barrels also seen people fill the blue barrels with the 2 part liquid foam to help with A-holes shooting them...

What he said...I had this exact same scenario a few years ago...got all sorta calculations thrown at me about how much weight each drum will disperse and all. The outrigger thing was a MUST I can guarantee you that.

right now We'd have to put stilts on them or rent a dragline to scoop out dirt so we could hold water.....I got a place or two that could be a BANG up spot for a blind...I'd love to float one in Bream City. We need to talk.

the outriggers would be a real good idea... I would put them on all 4 sides about 5 foot out... All you would need is one barrel for each side on the outriggers. Put the 2x4 brackets on the floor of the blind. once you get the blind where you want them all you have to do is slide the outriggers into the brackets and screw them into place.

I would make your blind a little longer (at least make it 10' long) that way you could get enough barrels under it so you will be able to float it well. I would say you would need a total of 9 thirty gallon barrels. That would be 4 corners, 1 in the middle, and 4 outriggers. All you have to do is go to a chemical store like UAP or Helena. They will have all you need and they will give them to you for free...

tunica and trip we can go do a blind together down there at the cutoff.......it is really good place might show yall some other places as well
