This could be it

Postby lefthorn » Mon Mar 17, 2003 2:30 pm

Bush is giving a public address on this war stuff tonight at 7 CST. He says diplomacy is over. They(US, Spain, and UK) are not waiting for the UNs approval. They are gonna give Sadaam 72 hours to GET OUT of Iraq or else. All UN inspectors were told to leave. This could get ugly boys.

Yeah, the UN is a good idea sometimes, but in times such as this they seem to be too slow to act. I know it has been said before, but if terrorists had done some of the crap to France they have done to us they would be singing a different tune.

Amen Dutch Dog....I'll bet the French just don't want to go on record siding with the U.S. because they are in range for a SCUD..... or they were offered free gas coupons and a gaggle of belly dancers

Them girls will need somewhere to go when we make a pile of rubble out of the royal palaces.

I hope that France and Germany and their socialist goverments and economy dry up and die on the vine. We had better not let france or germany have any contracts on rebuilding Irag!

It is going to happen unless someone overthrows the Iraqi government in less than 48 hours. This will be an urban war unlike anything we have seen since the liberation of France in WWII. It's ironic that the French turn their nose up at the coalition. The French are screwed and will have no leverage after this has been resolved. They had their chance to do the right thing and stop this dictator.

Our 1000 aircraft that are deployed in the region should make short work of the 300 Russian MIG's and French Mirages that Iraq has. Their choice of planes tells the story of why Russia and France are against this.

This is going to be ugly. I hope someone does in Sadam before the deadline. I would still like to see a peaceful resolution. I hate it for all of the mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, and children who have family members deployed in the Gulf Region now. I'll be thinking of them and praying for the fast and safe return of their loved ones.

I was riding the fence until I saw Bush tonight. Unfortunately, the time of taking sides and arguing over this conflict has passed. We are committed and it's time to stand behind our forces. Being a dove or a hawk shouldn't matter now.

Let's all hope for a short duration and minimum casualties on both sides.

God Bless America!

Yep, agree or disagree, it is time to put politics aside and start caring about our men and women in uniform, for it is they who must do this job now. I couldn't sleep much last night as all this kept running through my head.

But, remember that what can never be accomplished with bullets and bayonets is still doable through prayer. Guys, it's time to pause for awhile with the saber rattling and spend some time on our knees. Remember that, no matter the billions spent on a war, the real cost in in human terms.

I agree that our only hope to avoid an all out war would be Sadams assassination and even then if his sons did not leave there are no guarantees. Our prayers go out to the men and women in the armed forces as well as their families.

I also fell that we should let it be know on a national scale that we will no longer come to the aid of France no matter what the conflict. Their panty-waist attitude has gone on long enough. I agree with DD also, that it would be an outrage if they are awarded any of the contracts to help rebuild the nation.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!

Assination of Sadam would be a possibility since the war is not sanctioned by the UN. That would be the easiest, but I would do it with a lasar guided rocket.
